Something’s not right

I don't know how much longer I can last.

I don't know how much longer I can last.

I can't keep doing this. I wake up, go to work where I feel invisible and like I'm making it hard for everyone else. I go home where I sit by myself. I don't really have any friends. I am just making life hard for everyone else. I try to find reasons to keep going, and for ages the only thing keeping me going was that while I am completely miserable, my death would hurt others. But now I'm thinking that they'd be better off. I won't be wasting people's times. And I already feel dead.
I'm just bringing everyone down.

Re: I don't know how much longer I can last.

Hi @Crazy_Bug_Lady,

It can feel really distressing and overwhelming when we think that people are better of without us. As I mentioned in my email that I wrote to you - thinking this does not mean that your family/friends don't care about you. I know that your friends here care for you.

Talking about how you're feelings here on the Forums shows me that you do have skills to reach out and get through this. Though you mentioned that you're ok in your email, please remember to contact emergency if you feel at risk. I've included the numbers at the end of this post too.

@Crazy_Bug_Lady, I've seen you here on the forums go through dark times. I know it doesn't take the pain away right now, but use this to remember that dark times eventually pass. Perhaps look into helpful strategies that have helped you get by in the past.

In previous posts, I think you've mentioned that you have a pretty good doctor and psychologist. When are you meeting with them next? Talking through what you’ve been through tonight can help you develop strategies to cope. Also, it might be helpful to have a look in your coping box.

Stay safe @Crazy_Bug_Lady. Sending you cyber cuddles.

Re: I don't know how much longer I can last.

I'm still feeling crappy and miserable atm. Having spent most the night crying my face is all puffy and gross (more so than usual). I have managed to drag myself out of bed and get to work. I was useless enough yesterday, and I'll only be worse today. But I'm here. Even though all I want is to curl up in my bed where it's warm and safe.
My next psych appointment isn't until the start of June. By then I'll prolly be fine again. I'm not due to see my GP at the moment.
I'm sore from relapsing last night, more because I sleep on that side than anything else.

Sorry for being a misery guts...

I'm going to bed to sleep until the world makes sense.

@Crazy_Bug_Lady sending you lots of cyber hugs xxx

I think one of the most popular quotes that resonates with people who suffer from mental illness on these dark dark days that I always think of is

"THIS TOO SHALL PASS"

Just taking each day as it comes and even just focusing on every moment can make the difference.

You are loved @Crazy_Bug_Lady by family, friends, work colleagues by people in your life that you wouldn't even think of. And they would be devastated if anything were to happen to you.

We all have those moments, I don't have many friends myself and find it hard being alone when the mind starts to wander.

Perhaps spend some time doing some things you love, like listening to music or watching a funny movie and wait for those times to pass.

It's hard not to focus on those feelings but there is so much to look forward to.

@CherryBombis right, talk to your psychologist about your feelings and see what they can do to help you.

Sending love and light.

Re: I don't know how much longer I can last.

Thanks guys.
I'm heading home from work now, I figure 3 hours is better than none.
I am normally able to fight these moods, put on a happy face and "fake it till I make it", but yesterday was a bad day, and work issues have been flaring up again.
I'm just sick and tired of how things are, and when I try to talk to my boss I make things worse for everyone. Now I have to have a meeting with my boss and HR again. And that was the final straw for me.

I'm just tired. Tired of life. Tired of being me.

I hate calling people, it gives me panic attacks. But if I get desperate I will try and call the numbers listed.

Hi @Crazy_Bug_Lady

3 hours is 3 hours of pure effort and a great acheivement. Expecting more of yourself at the moment is probably going to leave you feeling worse so celebrate instead that incredible effort that you put in. You are unwell right now, if I made a comparison to the fact that you are quite ill right now and it would probably be like having a temperature of 39 with raging flu symptoms you wouldnt be giving yourself a hard time about not doing too much and needing to look after yourself right now. To get through this you do need to look after you, be gentle with your self, think a kind thought to yourself as if you were someone you didnt know.

Just the fact that you did drag yourself out of bed and to work this morning should also show you that you have strength determination and will to get through this. The work issues sound like they are really making things hard at the moment. Is there somewhere you can get some advice about your rights or the issue at hand? I'm not sure if your work has a union or there might be a workplace ombudsman that you can ring to get help and advice from?

Here with you and really hoping that things get a bit easier very soon, but hold onto the hope that you have felt better in the past and that you can again,

LJ

Hang in there..I know it sounds a bit trite but these feelings will pass..
I really like some of the strategies you have talked about in your coping box, now is as good as any time to use them...
And you can ri g your GP or your psychologist tomorrow or leave a message if they have answer machine and see if they can squeeze you in or ask for next cancelled appointment..what do you think cbl?
Apart from paid work, how is the.voluntary work going? I love your pics of donkeys and cows..

Re: I don't know how much longer I can last.

Thanks for the support. I hate coming on here and moaning, but I just need people who understand and don't tell me to suck it up.
I've completely ruined a 2 month SH free streak. And I hate that I can't stop. I hate that I can't understand how other people survive without it. When life hurts so much the physical pain is all that makes sense.
I got home from work and curled up on the couch, then moved into my bed where I'm warmer.
My psych is completely booked out, and I'm on a wait list already for cancelled appointments. I don't want to see the GP, I'm not sick, just useless. I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time.

Re: I don't know how much longer I can last.

Dearest @Crazy_Bug_Lady

I don't like to see you going through this, but I am so relieved you feel able to reach out here. this is such a horrible feeling, and so many of has gone through it - sometimes many times.

Please take care of you, and keep reaching out. We care, we would miss you. And I'm sure we're others would too.

I don't know if this will help you until this feeling passes, and it will sooner or later, but I had a thought which might help anchor you until things shift and lighten up for you. You rememver recently you told us about that camp or workshop (can't remember the exact details sorry) that you helped run with some younger people? I'd like you to think about the one or two you connected with most, or saw the most potential in. Then I want you to know that if they heard that you didn't keep going they would be devastated. It might even make them think (when life goes through dark times) that this is the solution. Because although suicide isn't contagious in one way, it is in another. Did you know that when someone dies from suicide then their family and close friends are more at risk? I'm telling you this because I lost my brother and I nearly lost my mum and my sister (several times). Please don't go there. It isn't worth it.

I really hope this helps.

Holding hope for people we care about (yes you!) so they endure...

Kindest regards ,

Kristin
