@utopia,
you sound happier, I hope that maybe you have turned the corner! Perhaps you needed to get all your anger up and out. It's anger at the system, maybe? Even though that psychiatrist was an nasty piece of work, you were probably angry at a lot of things! Who would blame you! Anger is fine.... it's not like you were really going to harm the man.
As for private hospitals.... I've worked in a few. They probably do have some kind of clause where they can jettison you out the door if they feel your behavior is 'threatening'. I don't know, exactly... I am just guessing here. I will say that private hospitals exist primarily to make money. Most don't have security guards or extra things like that. They can't afford to waste the profits.... they are accountable to share-holders, in many instances.
In other instances, private hospitals (usually very small ones) are actually owned by doctors... they don't want to take on any patients that could potentially scare off their other (usually very well-to-do) clientele.
Unfortunately, in my experience working in private hospitals....yeah, well. Look, I'm sure there are some good ones out there! My Dad goes into a private hospital today, actually. His is a phsyical illness. He hates hospitals with a passion, so his opinion will be biased!
The doctor/patient relationship is an odd one, isn't it? They have all the power and you have none. Personally, I have found that you will get the most help from your doctor if you are as nice as pie and thank them profusely for all their help, even if you feel they aren't that helpful!
Try to remember, that unless you are in involuntary patient, you always do have a say in your treatment. Use that little bit of power to your advantage. Ask a lot of questions. Always ask about side-effects and risks of treatments. Doctors and heath professionals only have a job because people get sick. Without you, they would have nothing.
Try to turn around that power relationship thing they have going on- see it from a different perspective.
Good luck this morning with the CAT team. xxxx
