Something’s not right

Not in a good place right now.

Not in a good place right now.

I'm hesitant to post this because others actually have it far worse than I do, but as the subject suggests, I'm doing it tough right now. I feel abandoned by my mental health services. They say they can look after me for one or two nights if I feel really suicidal, but despite the threats, I've never tried all that hard to complete the act and I think they believe I'm just someone looking for attention and being manipulative.

Of course, even if I was feeling like that, they're only going to talk to me, maybe suggest a hot bath with something nice in the water or a good nights rest. The latter is half the problem. My head is just so busy with my own thoughts, racing, racing and with no solution to anything in sight.

I'm having a home visit from my community case manager on Friday and she's already told me it will be the last time I see her. They're going to close my file and she's going on an OS holiday for a month. I feel totally abandoned again!!

I no longer want to get out of bed. What's the point? I'm not eating and have dropped a heap of weight. I didn't have much to spare to begin with, but I don't care. I know to stay well we must eat well, but I'm sick of all this stuff.

Anyway, I really wanted to let you know what's going on in my world and so if you don't see me responding to posts, then it's not you. It's me!

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Hi @Ellie Ellie,

I'm sorry to hear that things are so tough. Its so hard to find lasting support from anywhere. And the feeling of being abandoned is so crushing. I have been through a similar experience with a mental health nurse that let me down quite suddenly for the wrong reasons. I'm glad that you are here posting and would like to say please don't place your experiences and feelings next to someone elses for comparison. Our difficulties are each unique and worthy of each other support. You are worth the support of people here.

Its really hard to keep going when you feel so much despair but please do try to eat something as any little bit will help.

Here listening, be gentle with yourself,

LJ

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Thank you LJ. I have eaten a little this afternoon, but barely enough to keep a mouse alive. When feeling unwell, I do tend to spiral into an anorexic state, but I hadn't quite recovered from the last one and now here I am at it again

At least the fire is going and it's nice and warm in here. If I didn't have the fire to keep me company, I don't know where I'd end up.

I'm glad you've posted here, you'll get support and care here. Every little bit that you can eat will help. Keep reaching out for the help that you need. Keep talking to who ever you can in the mental health services world.

Hi @Ellie,

I read your post and you are being read honey. Firstly, can I comment on @Former-Member's perceptive comments. And a beautiful birdy too .........

Really believe you.

@Ellie, sitting here, thinking about you. Isn't it funny when you are most at risk and the people who need you the most go away. I remember when I was working as a carer,....... It is easy to think......oh, yeah.....this ones difficult, ille go last. But I didn't, Ide force myself to go immediately.

Re: Not in a good place right now.

Hello @Ellie

What keeps you putting one foot in front of the other, when you want to give up?

What stops you from slipping back further than you are?

What worked well today, that might not have on another day?

How did you maintain the status quo today?

What's one small thing that could happen today or tomorrow that would help?

There are solutions in your answers, and they lie with you.

Re: Not in a good place right now.

I'm drinking what I have to, but I have a very limited sensation of thirst at the best of times, same with feeling the need to eat. I barely ever notice feeling hungry, even when on a long trek or after a day of strenuous exercise. Some people do a bit of work and declare they're "absolutely starving" but I never feel like they do. This makes it very easy for me to slip into not eating or drinking when I don't even feel like pulling myself out of bed. Then I loose a stack of weight, but my MH team couldn't care less. They just look at it as simply attention seeking behaviour or perhaps manipulation.

Dearest @Ellie,
Today, in the back of my mind, I've been sending you showers of stars.
Because, your message is just as relevant as everyone else's and.......I've been driving my neighbour around finding her assistance.......we got it at her GPs.
But she's been neglected for years. As much as I can without burning myself out, I'm looking at a service that can change her experience of being neglected.......a bit like you. You, my friend, @Ellie
