I'm making a nest because I'm not feeling very ok and I would like to have a place to retreat to while I ride it out. Everything is chaotic all around and inside me almost all of the time, and I need some time out from it. If I make a nest here I can carry it in my pocket and know it's there for me.
In this nest it's very cosy. There's lots of soft pillows and blankets. Some are made with bright colours, mostly greens, pinks and yellows, and some are made in much deeper shades of purples. The nest is egg shaped so it can be climbed into it but still be a hiding out place. There's lots of fairy lights strung around the nest. They're different shapes and some are warm yellow, some are cool white and some are multi-coloured. They can be adjusted to vary the amount and type of light inside. There's also music which can sometimes be heard throughout the whole nest and sometimes it's playing from the headphones that are always kept on the pile of cushions. There's a lava lamp as well, and squishy glitter balls to squeeze and roll in hands. There are an endless supply of soft creatures to hold or sit with. There's always flowers in the corner and this morning they are gerberas standing tall and proud, on a little wooden table. Next to the vase is a teapot, colourful and quirky, with a collection of teacups and mugs.
Right now I am sitting in a pile of cushions very still with my knees to my chest, my head on my knees and my arms wrapped around my legs. There's no music at the moment so it is very quiet. Only a couple of strings of lights are turned on and they're twinkling yellow balls, so it's very dark but there's still some light inside. I have a soft blanket around me. It's peaceful in here.
I have to sit here until I can work out what to do next. I'm surrounded by people but I don't remember feeling so alone. I feel scared of making any move right now because I don't know what the right move is, and I don't trust any direction. I'm hoping that if I can hold out like this for just a little bit longer I will know what to do.
Right now I don't want to talk but I don't want to feel so alone either, so I'm asking for someone to please come and sit quietly next to me until I can move from my ball or I am made to move from it. I don't know when that will be, but I know I can't stay like this forever.
Hoping you're ok @CheerBear I know you like messages to read in the morning and I'll leave you a cuppa 😊☕🍰 How did your adventure go today?
I went to bed at 10ish because i was exhausted. Hm! Now its nearly 1am. 😮😨 So much for no sleep meds . It's unbearable being awake when so tired. Just took some, grr. Had huge day. I drove to big city. Shopping centre (HUGE one) as well as IKEA for lunch followed by dinnern yummo! I went to pay parking and we'd been there way over 6 hours. Long drive home in the dark. I did it, woo hoo! I drove to the city. 😀😮 Conquered it. Let's see how I feel tomorrow . Bought lots too.
Now I need to unwind I tend to over do it when i go out.
Anyway wanted to say, thinking of you especially seeing as you're going through a tough time. Hugs. 💗💜💟💕

Re: I'm in a nest
Good morning in the nest ☺
@Phoenix_Rising- I got a big laugh out of the blue paint. I saw this pop up via email while I had my phone on loudspeaker looking for something on it for my friend. I had a vision of my friend looking like smurfette and LOLed. I couldn't tell her why I had laughed which made it even funnier. It took a while for me to stop seeing friend as smurfette after that. As a random - I catch myself out saying things like "catch myself" or "running between things" etc and think of the literal meaning of what I'm saying so SO often since having met you! Enough to get a laugh at myself frequently 😆
@Former-Member- waking up to this message has just made my early morning a bit brighter, thank you 💓
Wow that's a huge day yesterday! I remember that driving is one of those tricky things for you (city driving for me is a flst out no-go) so driving in to the city and being there for that long is massive! Did you pick up anything else exciting this time? IKEA is dangerously great 😜
I hope you can take it easier today. I think it's still holidays there for you? I hope the last few days of it are good for you both 😊
Yesterday was fun and busy. This friend we met with is a really special one in that they're all we have left here after the big bang. Our friendship has changed a lot through this but it's probably been strengthened in a way too. We catch up on the school holidays as hers and mine are very close, so it was a day of squeaky, squealy, laughing/fighting fish, madness. I was unwinding last night and my smurfette friend messaged me. We are long time friends but we don't ever see each other in person. It's been the longest between phone chats for us in our friendship (lots of months) and I was starting to wonder if we were drifting apart. I shouldn't have because we picked up right where we left off. By the time I went to bed I was a bit all over the place after a lot more socialising than usual and a lot more out and about than I have been doing for the last couple of weeks with sick fish. It was that 0-100 thing I think, and I ended up very teary and melty in bed. But as almost always happens, the sun has risen and things feel fresh again.
@Former-Memberand@Teej - I'm putting this here for a reason (knowing this is now an essay to sift through sorry!). Thank you both for catching me when I started to fall a bit last night. I wonder if sometimes things I say are tricky to piece together here. I think it's as much that I can't say specifics as it is that it's tricky to piece together in my head anyway. Thank you for understanding that and sitting with me while I tripped and fell. Nothing big or bad could have happened today and I know that at least, even though I don't what today actually was. Lots of good can happen here in today the 29/9/17 (I had to edit that date lol) and that's where I will choose to live today. This week is nearly over. I'm nearly there now. It's like a long day that I know will end eventually, and with it a fresh new one will start again.
We're off on a really big, seriously fun adventure this afternoon/evening. The type of one where mine struggled to sleep because of the excitement last night. I'm really looking forward to it and the distraction will be great today.
I hope there is good in today for everyone ☺
