I'm making a nest because I'm not feeling very ok and I would like to have a place to retreat to while I ride it out. Everything is chaotic all around and inside me almost all of the time, and I need some time out from it. If I make a nest here I can carry it in my pocket and know it's there for me.
In this nest it's very cosy. There's lots of soft pillows and blankets. Some are made with bright colours, mostly greens, pinks and yellows, and some are made in much deeper shades of purples. The nest is egg shaped so it can be climbed into it but still be a hiding out place. There's lots of fairy lights strung around the nest. They're different shapes and some are warm yellow, some are cool white and some are multi-coloured. They can be adjusted to vary the amount and type of light inside. There's also music which can sometimes be heard throughout the whole nest and sometimes it's playing from the headphones that are always kept on the pile of cushions. There's a lava lamp as well, and squishy glitter balls to squeeze and roll in hands. There are an endless supply of soft creatures to hold or sit with. There's always flowers in the corner and this morning they are gerberas standing tall and proud, on a little wooden table. Next to the vase is a teapot, colourful and quirky, with a collection of teacups and mugs.
Right now I am sitting in a pile of cushions very still with my knees to my chest, my head on my knees and my arms wrapped around my legs. There's no music at the moment so it is very quiet. Only a couple of strings of lights are turned on and they're twinkling yellow balls, so it's very dark but there's still some light inside. I have a soft blanket around me. It's peaceful in here.
I have to sit here until I can work out what to do next. I'm surrounded by people but I don't remember feeling so alone. I feel scared of making any move right now because I don't know what the right move is, and I don't trust any direction. I'm hoping that if I can hold out like this for just a little bit longer I will know what to do.
Right now I don't want to talk but I don't want to feel so alone either, so I'm asking for someone to please come and sit quietly next to me until I can move from my ball or I am made to move from it. I don't know when that will be, but I know I can't stay like this forever.
I'm excited for you @CheerBear creating something positive and something to kind of look forward to. From what I know these kind of things are usually such a positive reminder and strength for the future. I've thought about it before but it's not right for me yet. I have always liked the idea of incorporating a semi colon. On the day I'll be metaphorically holding your hand. I physically sat through my best friends experience so I've got an inkling.
I know you'll have some hard yards but know you'll come through this with so much more strength and empathy to be able to share for having lived through it, that's my positive spin for you.
Just sending you a woohoo for it 🤗💜😘

Re: I'm in a nest
Thank you @Teej😊 I have a semicolon incorporated into one too. They've been really important to me and this one will be as important as the others. I will think of you holding my hand that day (and in the days before). I love the positive spin heaps. Clocking up the lived experience hours (I've said that here before too) now 😉 ☺
Bug hugs thanks heaps x

Hiya @Former-Member👋
How is your afternoon going? I couldn't tell you what the weather is like here because I'm still in bed 😱.
I think you gals have inspired me to get up and see how dog and I go. Still needing a day in the nest and some self care. S1 has seen the state I'm in and is trying to get me back to mum status so I guess it's time to try. again and stop my self pity party.
🤗💜💐

Re: I'm in a nest
Sorry if it seems that I don't care when I don't reply to messages @CheerBear@Faith-and-Hope Sometimes I feel so tired etc and just don't cope at all and even something as simple as replying to a message seems too much for me. I want to reply, but feel too steessed, if that makes sense? 💜💕
I hope your afternoon out was nice CheerBear. 💕
It must be hard for D3 not feeling well etc FaithandHope. Hard for you to see her unwell too. Hoping you find peace amongst everything that's going on. 💕
I had a rest just now, but am aching so much, I'd better take something.
Went to refuge, but no puppies for us.
Hi there @Teej and @Former-Member💜💕
Thinking of @Phoenix_Rising as well. 👋💜💟

Re: I'm in a nest
@Former-Member - it is a bazillion percent ok for you not to reply, or you to reply sometimes, or you to post about you and not need to reply to anything from anyone else, or you to reply to everything all the time (which is sort of impossible). I totally get it and am positive so many other people do too. It really is lovely to hear from you however or whenever we do (I really mean that) 💗
You went to look for a puppy?! Such a big step and super cool to hear. I'm sorry to hear there wasn't one there. The right one must be waiting somewhere else, or sometime else (I think I sound like @Faith-and-Hope here 😉)
Our arvo has been nice thanks. About to be "rained" in (lol) so it was good to get out while we did.

Re: I'm in a nest
That pet loss pain is so hard @Former-Member😞 It hurts to see and hold others when the pain is still there, and tears are understandable. It was hard getting Mouse but I'm so glad we did. Noodle kind of pushed his way into our life and has fitted perfectly from then. It felt impossible to imagine having another cat when my special died, but I really do think it's one of those things that when it's right it happens. Now I can't imagine life without mine. I have a feeling it will happen with you and your puppy-to-be some day too.
Hope your roast was good ☺
You're a pretty great influence @Faith-and-Hope (just saying) 😊💕
