I'm making a nest because I'm not feeling very ok and I would like to have a place to retreat to while I ride it out. Everything is chaotic all around and inside me almost all of the time, and I need some time out from it. If I make a nest here I can carry it in my pocket and know it's there for me.
In this nest it's very cosy. There's lots of soft pillows and blankets. Some are made with bright colours, mostly greens, pinks and yellows, and some are made in much deeper shades of purples. The nest is egg shaped so it can be climbed into it but still be a hiding out place. There's lots of fairy lights strung around the nest. They're different shapes and some are warm yellow, some are cool white and some are multi-coloured. They can be adjusted to vary the amount and type of light inside. There's also music which can sometimes be heard throughout the whole nest and sometimes it's playing from the headphones that are always kept on the pile of cushions. There's a lava lamp as well, and squishy glitter balls to squeeze and roll in hands. There are an endless supply of soft creatures to hold or sit with. There's always flowers in the corner and this morning they are gerberas standing tall and proud, on a little wooden table. Next to the vase is a teapot, colourful and quirky, with a collection of teacups and mugs.
Right now I am sitting in a pile of cushions very still with my knees to my chest, my head on my knees and my arms wrapped around my legs. There's no music at the moment so it is very quiet. Only a couple of strings of lights are turned on and they're twinkling yellow balls, so it's very dark but there's still some light inside. I have a soft blanket around me. It's peaceful in here.
I have to sit here until I can work out what to do next. I'm surrounded by people but I don't remember feeling so alone. I feel scared of making any move right now because I don't know what the right move is, and I don't trust any direction. I'm hoping that if I can hold out like this for just a little bit longer I will know what to do.
Right now I don't want to talk but I don't want to feel so alone either, so I'm asking for someone to please come and sit quietly next to me until I can move from my ball or I am made to move from it. I don't know when that will be, but I know I can't stay like this forever.
I understand about having a break @Former-Member Lovely of you to pop by. Look after yourself and will hear from you when you're ready. 😙 🌷🌺🌹🌸🌼🌻
I've cried every day for a month now. Let's see if I can stop tomorrow. 😂💟💗😄😴

Re: I'm in a nest
@Former-Member - thank you for coming past and letting us know how you've been getting on.
I drove past a freezing football field with lots of big boys playing today and noticed all the (people who looked like) mums watching on. I wondered whether you were doing something like that this morning (I also wanted to take them all hot chocolates!). I have been thinking of you and how you were going. I had a feeling that you were ok, even if you weren't 'that' ok, because your record for surviving tricky times is 100% so far so you're chances of being able to withstand whatever is happening, are pretty good (I think anyway)?
I can see how dropping out might be cause for worry or concern around here sometimes. I also see how sometimes we all need a break or time out from things and sometimes it just doesn't feel right to be here for whatever reason. There's always a couple of ways to look at it. The easiest and most ok way for me to see it is by remembering that I really have no way of knowing how someone is getting on. As much as I genuinely care about people here, the best I can do at times like that is hope that busy/better things to do/self care time out stuff is behind someone's not-here-ness. I do really appreciate how important it is to look after yourself, and if that means taking a break then that sounds like a really good idea.
It's great to hear that you're working on some goals. When you're back and if you'd like to share, I'd love to know how you're getting on with them.
Will have a cushion and some flowers ready for whenever you come past teej. Happily accepting your hug, and returning one if you'd like it.
Take care 💗

Re: I'm in a nest
I remember writing that post on my notepad last njght but have absolutely no memory of posting it 😮
I must have been very tired by the time I went to bed @Former-Member but I was up late being crafty. We've been out for the night and I was tagging along on a very arty person's adventure involving lots of paints and different chemicals that make the paint do all kinds of amazing things. It was so cool! I'll see if I can take a can't be identified photo of what I made last night and I'll post it if I can. Between our weekly fun thing, my cat creation and then the pretty paints last night, I had a very colourful day yesterday 🙂 Back to reality a bit more today with supermarket, school uniform washing and all that stuff to do but that's ok.
How was your night last night?

Re: I'm in a nest
Hello nesters,
@Former-Member Thank you for dropping by to let us know how you are travelling. I super hope you find the DBT group helpful and that things out there in the "real" world are going ok.
@CheerBear I am SUPER sleepy, so this will be super brief. I took the make-me-sleep medication at 4:30pm because I have to get up early to see (A) tomorrow. It is now almost 5:30pm and I am very dopey. I'm going to have to talk to my GP about this ridiculously full-on sedating effect on Thursday. I'm super hoping it will settle down because it is a GOOD thing that it is giving me such a good night's sleep...but I need to then be awake during the day!!!! If it could put me to sleep for 7-8 hours, that would be great...but at the moment it is making me sleepy alllllllllll the time.
Anyway, that's it from me, I'm afraid. I hope you have had a fun weekend. Have you returned the extra LF to his/her own home yet? I hope the upcoming week is a good one for you, where you can have the space and the support you need to get over each hurdle as it appears. Night.

Re: I'm in a nest
Hi everyone 🙂
How's the weekend been?
@Phoenix_Rising - that's so early! I'm thinking you'd be well into your night sleep now. Does the make-you-sleep medication keep you asleep all night? I'm hoping your GP will be able to sort it out for you.
I returned the extra fish and all had fun 🙂 I feel really proud of this weekend because it's very much a pre-bigbang CB thing to do, and very much not a post-big bang CB thing. I feel really bad for my fish about their losses, including this big one (where extra fish are too much for me rather than something that always happened) so it was good to be able to give them that.
This week will kick off with a meeting with my CM, either tomorrow or Tuesday. The thinking time I've had over the last couple of days, means I have made a plan that I plan to put to her. I'm feeling better at the moment so I'm hoping nothing shakes that up too much. As hopeful as I am, I'm also aware that it won't take much to shake it up though, so I've got a plan for that too. I like these kinds of plans 😄
I hope your appointment with A is a productive one tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers that you'll be able to build on the good in your last session.

Re: I'm in a nest
Hi @CheerBear🐻 and everyone 💜💗💟💕 👋☕🍩 Had my coffee and treats. 😂 Better get things done. If I don't do much, it makes the depression worse. Tricky when there's limited energy.
Really bad sleep last night, felt creepy. 😮😨😯
I will attempt to be more positive. 🌸🌼🌹
Had a big walk at beach yesterday. You'd think it would've helped me sleep.
Shopping again. Bought a new jacket, plus few other things.
