sad&stuck

sad&stuck

Major depression & social anxiety have been ruling my life and I feel so stuck. Lack of motivation, emotional overeating, loneliness..(my partner works nights and sleeps during the day, i have no friends & my family are either away or busy and I feel like I don't want to bother them) feelings of being worthless and hopeless, racing thoughts... I'm tired. And sad. No medication is helping and I have a support team around me (psychologist, psychiatrist, gp, mental health support worker) but I can't help but think why bother. Ive been holding on for so long and it doesn't seem to be getting better. I feel like there's only so much distracting I can do. Sorry, you probably don't want to read my depressing s*&t but thanks if you do.

Re: sad&stuck

@Former-Member @outlander
Mine are down towards the bottom of my legs and heading upwards so unfortuantly there is no hiding them. I guess the only thing to do is accept that they are there? Wish I did on the upper thighs, would of been easier to hide.

I think I will try to focus on updating my music for the trip and try not to think about it (yeah right)

@STORMGRL101 it is what it is. your family are at least aware of your mental state and all though your scared to show them and i would be too- my family dont know i sh at all- but theres a chance they have already seen them

are they on both legs..?

Re: sad&stuck

yes @outlander both legs.
since my recent diagnosis (BPD) my parents are now aware of my struggles and apparently my mum told my partner she understands why I would SH although she hasn't said anything to me about it or seen it as i have been wearing trackies for the last however long its been.

Re: sad&stuck

hmm @STORMGRL101 they will understand. i can still sense fear and i dont blame you one bit for that but it seems they understand you or they are trying to understand you.

i think if you pay too much attention to it rather than having fun itll draw the attention to them more- if that makes sense. try to jsut have fun though as @Former-Member said youll ahve to be careful about sunburning them. if your in the sun for a long time maybe you could cover your lower legs with a towel to stop the sun getting at them

Re: sad&stuck

thanks @outlander you are right. The only people who have seen my SH was the drs in hospital. I will definitely keep my towel wrapped around my waist.
why is it I listen to music, not even sad music but it makes me feel...not sure of the right word... not sad and not scared but overwhelmed I guess. I dont know

@STORMGRL101

What you said about the music giving you feelibgs made me think of a quote:
When your happy you enjoy the music
When your sad you understand the words

Re: sad&stuck

Does that maybe help abit with understanding your feelings?

Re: sad&stuck

Ive just taken my meds too @STORMGRL101 i hope they kick in soon
What sort of things do you do to relax?

Re: sad&stuck

You could wear a sarong around your waist @STORMGRL101 .... and just drop it at the water's edge to swim, and pick it up again from the water's edge as you come out again. That will also protect from the sun.
