Craft Corner

Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

Looking forward to hearing from you all 🙂

Re: Craft Corner

Oh, that's excellent @eth - glad to help. @outlander any time you are ready! sounds like a wonderful idea.

Those bears are simply divine - I am going to find out more about the pattern, it's on a Russian language site so no idea how to get it!

I partially sewed a craft project carrier bag while waiting till time to go to my sleep test set up.

Got there, it was cancelled - read about it over in Safe Haven thread - sorry @Bella1978 thanks for asking, that thread will catch you up.

April is Craft for Stress month too.

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear Mice and Mystics is the co-operative board game I have been trying to remember to tell you about. There are options to keep buying things to add to the story, but not needed. I thought there were other ones, too, but not so much for younger participants.

So sorry it's taken me so long to remember to tell you this.

Re: Craft Corner

How nice to get your hair done. I cannot recall the last time I went to a hairdresser, I used to have a lovely lass come to my home, but she moved away. I'm skilled enough at cutting it myself when it gets too long. But, that's a thought, I wonder if I could manage going to a hair dresser just for a shampoo and massage .... Would have to find a quiet place with someone who won't keep trying to sell me stuff, or want to cut it off though.

That's something to put on my list of things to attempt. Thanks for the idea.

Good to hear your jigsaw is still available @Shaz51 - I had to put mine away, it's a sizeable size and was getting in the way, unfortunately, so for the time being, it's back in it's box. That's okay though, for the most part, because I have been using the room where it will fit for my sewing and that gets more use at the moment.

Hello in the Corner @CheerBear @Bunniekins @eth @Faith-and-Hope

Last night I finished the craft bag I started making for distraction purposes and it's turned out nicely.

Today I got made up 2kg of the fresh ginger I had delivered into Japanese Pickled Ginger or Gari which is a favourite thing of mine.

Craft project bag pockets - all bags need pockets! Water bottle on end, snack on other end, notebook, projects, tools, whatever else I fancy. Stands on it's own too.
