Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

Hi @CheerBear @outlander @Gazza75 @Maggie I’ve been really lazy. So many things I could be doing. I just don’t have the positive motivation at the moment.

The squares I crocheted ages ago is still not complete. I’ve got heaps of material to sew bsby blankets too.

And heaps of wool.

I feel pretty useless when I see all your beautiful things you are all making.

@BlueBay Would it help to try something easy that you would like to do? I often don’t have the motivation either, but pick up a bit, stitch by stitch. I understand it might also be stressful though. Would you feel ok about sharing something you’ve done in the past? No pressure at all though. You certainly are not useless @BlueBay 💜💕💜💕

I tend to make a few centres, then round 2 on them all , then round 3 etc @CheerBear it seems to go quicker that way and I don't have to change yarns so much just the square im working on atm. I have 4 I started abit earlier but only got to round 2 on them. once ive done these 4 ill have 24 in total. I think ill aim for 30, lay them out and see what I think. I think ill be doing more though...

Sharing this one. It's the re-done Sophie centre (tagging you @Maggie, @Gazza75 and@outlander). I'm happier with this being the centre flower and hopefully it will motivate me to actually finish a Sophie 🤔 I'm getting sooo stuck with working out what colours to use though. I'm way too indecisive and it's taking a bit of the joy away from it at the moment 😏 Its a start at least.

I also had three diamond painters yesterday 😁 They loved it, Big particularly who has already asked for a big one for a December gift 🙂
