Craft Corner

A place to chat and share all things crafty!

What's your favourite craft? Is there anything you're working on at the moment? What would you like to create/work on (I have heaps of "one day" project patterns and ideas that I know I will probably never get around to, but it's nice to imagine)? I'd love to hear!

I have absolutely no artistic side to me and stick figures are the extent of my drawing ability, but I really enjoy learning and trying out new crafts. I learnt crochet during a stay in a prevention and recovery centre and it's something I pick up often when I am feeling blue, I need a distraction or I'm just a little bored. I've tried paper crafts too, although I didn't really get far with anything. Sharpies are some of my best friends and when I find my hands need to move I have a collection of smooth rocks that I draw on (different coloured circles) which often relaxes me. Sometimes I dust off the sewing machine and sew as well. I walk around spotlight for a fun outing 😉

you've knitted some of their clothes too, very neat work. Very cute expressions.

Do you have like 50 thousand dolls keeping you company, or do you do something else with them and only have a few for company?

I ask partly cos I'm just plain curious and partly cos I am thinking of making amigurumi but I don't know what to do with 'lots of them'.

While you may not feel so great about functionality this morning, CatCakes, you're actions show you're doing well. It takes effort to get the photos happening and you did it. You're doing better than it feels like I expect.

@Former-Member I am super excited that you've come to play here in the craft corner. It would be super if we could make baby dragons together-but-not. Given my current somewhat limited skill level, can you please wait for me to develop a bit more skill so we can start them together??? That would be super fun.

For making me feel better.
I used to volunteer for a charity and I gave the dolls to them, they either sold them or put them in new mum love parcels.
I have also given them as gifts to people I know.
Then when Mum’s health started to go downhill I stopped working there.
I like to change projects every now and then anyway.
I’m sure you could find a charity to take your work.
When I lived in China I worked for a charity that raised money for rural kids who needed heart surgery.....all through knitting ❤️

@CheerBear @Catcakes @Former-Member @Former-Member Er...after running around waving my arms in the air like kermit for a while, it has now occurred to me that I don't actually know how to most productively spend $50 at Spotlight in order to claim my $10 discount - especially since Spotlight currently has a 30% off sale. So...if you guys could jump on the Spotlight website and come up with a shopping list for me, that would be awesome.
