Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

So much fun! It's been forever since I've had an Easter hunt, although with my banana brain at the moment there's a chance that come Sunday I will have forgotten where I hid the Saturday night eggs and will be able to join with the little fish looking for them again @Spookytookims 😂.

And of course you thought of things like ants finding them! I always forget about creatures also wanting a share of Easter. Maybe I'll remember that now this year.

Back to painting. Allllllmost there. Hope your day is good!

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

That was a good read @Spookytookims 😄 Good work. I lol'd at Commander Keen's helmet and the mysterious notes 😉 Realistically I'd probably have already gone to see what I wanted to salvage from the wreck and left a pile of stuff I thought everyone else might want... In a way that was supposed to look like it mysteriously helpfully "washed up" to shore rather than being dragged up by some weirdo who's obviously avoiding everyone 😛

Although no one would ever accuse me of being a vegetarian, I'm secretly glad that I don't have to prove my manliness by taking out the pig 🙂 Although why are you domesticating it (her?) when it was living happily on the island without human intervention?

@TheVorticon OMG can you stop ruining my next one!! I've got you doing something almost like exactly that! 😛 hahaha that's funny!! Wait and see... it's not exactly that but it's similar.

@Spookytookims haha that's great 😄 Alright, I'll zip it on the spoilers 😛

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

hahaha no it's good.. cos it means I'm at least somewhat on the right track with your character 😛 Just a laugh because I didn't think I'd luck it in quite so close 🙂 @TheVorticon Thanks!! (btw)

@CheerBear I super love your introductory post and the change of name for the thread!!! I also super love the way you have created links for each episode - very clever!

@Spookytookims wow, that was very fortunate that you thought to fill your pockets with easter eggs. I wonder what other interesting things you have in those pockets???

I have to say, I am a little puzzled by something... I read on another thread that @CheerBear was coming to the island after taking a bath. This isn't computing so well in my brain. @CheerBear did you mean you were taking a bath in the ocean and would then come ashore to the island. That's really the only way I can make sense of this riddle. Oh well, I know that @Spookytookims will make it all nice and clear super soon.

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

Thanks @Phoenix_Rising - I was kind of impressed with myself last night 🙂

I don't know what I am doing and where at the moment and I am glad @Spookytookims seems to be able to help me make sense of things too, she's really helpful like that.

I have to spend some time wondering why I did decide to domesticate Daisy as well, because @TheVorticon is right. She was happy running freely on the island before I came along and turned her into a pet. Still, I think her life as a pet is better than a pillow pet and I am happy for her that so far no-one seems ok with taking her out.

Bath now. @Spookytookims - is the waterfall I think we're washing in warm? If not is there any way we can make it? Do we have fire? So many questions...

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

@Phoenix_Rising I know!! and so lucky they weren't water damaged! Not even sure how that happened but I think that plastic thing they are in must be incredibly waterproof.. and it's lucky I have those magic pockets @CheerBear pointed out. Have you noticed how much magic surrounds our little Cheerbear Grylls? Quite remarkable.

Obviously the waterfall isn't good enough bath for Cheerbear Grylls... you know she is a pricey little fashionable pritzy little bear... I think I have an idea where she went it'll have to be in the next episode. 😛

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

OMG now @CheerBear Grylls wants the waterfall warmed .. and we are on a tropical island!!! Sheesh she doesn't want much does she? @Phoenix_Rising @TheVorticon @Former-Member

Absolutey HAD to tag the vorticon on that one!! LOLOL too funny!!! would you like seven different shampoos and conditioners to choose from at the local store too Cheerbear Grylls? or will the 5 already available suffice?

ROFL. Hey @Spookytookims do you have any solar panels in those pockets of yours so we can rig up a solar heating system to warm the waterfall for @CheerBear???
