Adventures on Turtle Island

Adventures on Turtle Island

Edit:

Welcome to Turtle Island!

What began as a discussion about personality types based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, quickly found a few of us marooned on an Island in the shape of a turtle (see below), in the South Pacific. We are currently having all kinds of adventures using our MBTI types to work out what might happen. If you're looking for some light-hearted fun, everyone is welcome to come along to stay or just visit. (You can get an idea of your MBTI here if you're interested.) Recently we found a (non-existent) suggestion box on the Island, we think it's come from an elusive island neighbour, so you're welcome to just fly (or swim) past and drop us some suggestions too.

Niqueeta wrote a fabulous prelude to Turtle Island here:

Turtle Island : The Night Before

Spookytookims has written some awesome episodes which can be found here:

The First Morning

Turtle Island episode 2

Turtle Island episode 3 (this one even has pictures!)

Turtle Island episode 4: Shipwreck Salvage

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 1)

Turtle Island: The Lurgi Strikes (part 2)

We now have a welcome sign which is also our Island flag:

And here we are in a message in a bottle on the sand as drawn by Lil-Caterpillar!

Here are some views of our Island - isn't it spectacular?!

Looking forward to bumping in to you!

This is how it all began....

****************

Personality and what makes us us is something I find really interesting and I think there would be a few of us out there who share that interest.

@Spookytookims and I were having a chat about MBTI and the differences in our 'types'. I've found myself pondering what factors in our personalities might influence our interactions and the way a deeper understanding of people may improve communication. I like thinking about what makes two or more people 'click' or not.

While it's difficult to imagine the world being split into a small number of personality 'types', I am interested in what different personality tests offer us in terms of gaining insight or understanding.

Maybe an interesting discussion if anyone wants to join 🙂

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

@Former-Member that's enough for this one lil-caterpillar. I don't need a lot to build on so that's heaps for now. Thank you.

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

We say we can't change rules once they're set @Spookytookims, but the reality is that as an INTP you're not a rule person, and as INFJ and INFPs caterpillar and I are likely to adhere to rules as long as they are fair but if an authoritarian person comes along and enforces unfair rules, we'll protest and attempt to overturn/overthrow them.

I'm a huge fan of not keeping discoveries secret too. As for the rescue, well i think you have probably already guessed that I'm quite happy to live on this island and spend my days discovering and dreaming about amazing adventures. But I won't survive long. If we had a Daisy she would, I'd look after her, but I think I'd maybe forget to feed myself haha.

Oh and re the mailbox, while a coconut shell sounds pretty reasonable, I'm worried it might be a little kind of boring looking. I'd much prefer one of these thanks. I found one with no string so it should be easy enough. It matches my swing nicely. That's only if you haven't already got other important things to do though 😉

Re: Adventures on Turtle Island

No strings... @CheerBear but does it have nails? Something has to be keeping it together and how are you going to cut the wood we don't have a machete, not even a basic kn*fe yet... which is why I went for coconut... but @Former-Member Has volunteered to make a mailbox out of lattice. She'll probably have to update it reasonably regularly but I'm thinking it's going to take you a while to find all the stuff for your salubrious one! Are you sure that's not a house for @Former-Member? Maybe you are going to visit The vorticon and steal some of his man cave supplies? oh hang on I should be saving all this for episode 4!! LOL ok shutting up now.

😄

OMG! @CheerBear @Phoenix_Rising @Former-Member Look what I found in my pockets! Think I'll have to use these for an Easter Hunt around the island. 😄
