Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

No upsetting here anymore, sorry @Former-Member. Sometimes without the visual stuff to go by, conversation can be a little tricky I think.

Sorry to hear about you and your hubby 😞 Some time away might be hard but sounds like it will be worth it. Is your daughter excited?

What kinds of things are your favourite comfort things Bella?

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

I guess you're in a colder place than me @Former-Member So cold, not so great for you.
Here it's usually always super hot and humid, so winter here is perfect. 😀

I vaguely remember freezing in Melbourne years ago. I used to work in the city there. Brrr! 😊😬

Yes, misunderstandings can happen alot on the forums unfortunately.
No need to be sorry @CheerBear 💕
Facebook is a bit like that too.
Easy to misunderstand words sometimes.

Not sure what my favourite comfort things are @CheerBear
If I could, I'd be a comfort eater 😂
But IBS stops me. 😮😣
I crave sweets, but sugar is a "no no" for me.

I try and distract, usually I come on here to distract. 😁

I'll have to go and pick up my daughter soon. She's at a party.
I'm not used to driving at night, but hubby is asleep.
Having PTSD isn't good for a marriage. 😮😣😨😂

Yes, daughter is happy to be going away.
Been a stressful term with assignments, exams etc.

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

Good luck with the driving @Former-Member - you sound like such a good mum ❤️

I agree, PTSD isn't really fab for many relationships I think! It seems to make many things harder when it starts creeping in.

IBS and not being able to eat things you crave sounds really hard! I find distractions really helpful a lot of the time, but get really distracted (lol) so I think I need to be more 'mindful' when I am doing things to distract myself maybe. Comfort things help me when distractions are harder (like when I am tired, it's really late etc). Anything soft and fluffy is a comfort thing for me (like a blanket, the cat, even my kids stuffed toys sometimes). With the weather getting colder, warm things like tea or a bath feel nice too.

I am almost tired enough to switch off and try to sleep I think.

Hope you all sleep well @Former-Member, @Former-Member and spooky.

Thanks for the chat 🙂

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

Hi @Former-Member and @Former-Member do either of you know your MBTI type? Just asking because I recently rediscovered my old results of a face to face assessment by a professor at uni. I personally found it very insightful at the time and even now re-reading it.

I know nowadays it's considered somewhat old school and unfortunately the internet has turned it a bit pop culture-ish; but I just re-did a free test online and received the same result as my formal assessment decades ago. I did do a bit of research to find one I thought looked 'real'.

Mine really helps me make sense of who I am and why I have problems interacting with most people. Gives insight beyond just the trauma. So was wondering if either of you happen to know yours?

Here's a quick little insight from mine. Which I'm pretty sure anyone who knows me would just nod about:

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

HI @Spookytookims 🙂

Yes I have done this 🙂 Actually there is an old (very old) discussion on this somewhere on the forums. I also took part in a study on this a few years ago where we got our type and then were tested 6 months later to see if it remained the same. Mine changed by one heading but i cant remember what it was! I had an ultra rare combo apparently lol... I'm amazed that yours has stayed the same over a few decades that's interesting!

Will see if i can find the emails from the researcher,

cheers,

lj

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

Good morning everyone 🌞

Hope the day has started well for those who are awake.

It's a pj day for me today and I couldn't be more ok with that 😊. I have a couple of appointments on at home and in between them I'm planning on crocheting.

@Former-Member - we were chatting about phams in another thread and I wanted to say that, like you mentioned, it seems like a great program for working gently at making changes that you want that will help improve your life. From my understanding it's a really client centred, strengths based approach and is all about what you want, not what someone else thinks you should do. My phams worker is really understanding of the impact of trauma, and so far has been incredibly gentle and supportive which I need. We spent last catch up looking at my values and how much I am living in alignment with them. Next I think we look at what direction I'd like to take with this, that's keeping true to those values. Then we make a plan about how to get there.

Anyway, just thought I'd elaborate a bit more now I'm not half asleep.

Hope it's a good day for you all 💗

Hi @Spookytookims 💕
Not sure what MBTI is. Maybe I can google it later. Thanks for the info.

I can relate to
Think
Think what I thought about. 😮😣😕😨😦😯

I'm an overthinker and am constantly working on my thoughts.

I wake up bombarded with thoughts, worries, things I have to do, every morning, no break from it. 😮😣😨
I hate it.
It's tiring having to constantly try and retrain thoughts.

I hope you are ok and that your day goes well.

Re: Complex PTSD - Depression - Anxiety - ADD - Fibro Myalgia/Chronic Fatigue - Life is so hard.

Hi @CheerBear 💜

Thanks for info re phams worker.

I think I will phone their office when I get back from our little holiday.

I really need some help to join "real life".
It can get very boring hiding from life.
Home is my sanctuary, but I know that I have to get out more.

I like that you said that they aren't pushy. I don't cope with pushey. I need to do things a step at a time to see how I cope.
Pushing just makes me feel super stressed.

I'm still have a few weeks of the workshop I'm doing, but really need something after that.

Thanks and I hope you have a nice day.

Sun is trying to shine, I'm still catching up on washing. Appointment today. So am keeping busy.
