Re: Complex PTSD
i went to this new gp while mine is away and im glad i went today.
it was a longer appointment jsut to get a bit of details etc but we covered how i was feeling and my thoughts etc. she said its really important that i ring 000 is this continues becasue im at the point now where the next step is where i might intend to act on these thoughts. it is time for some serious help.
shes made sure and even had to show her i had the helpline numbers in my phone and she re gave me the mental health team in my area as well as they apparently can organise an emergent home psychiatrsit visit or soemthing for an assessment and i wasnt aware of that. she had made me an urgent appintment to see my psychatrist to keep an eye out as well and i see her tomorrow at 9am.
she gave me my swabs back for downstairs and it istnt thrush but some sort of other infection so she gave me antibiotics for it and she checked the lump thing and she said it has burst which is why the symptoms as well. i told her this was the second time it happened she said its likeley it will happened again but next time it happens as soon as it look the way it did before as in its coming to a point like its going to pop- cover it and try not to pop it and book an urgent appointment and she will do a draining procedure to fully clear it out but as it has already popped she doesnt want to try and drain it as yet as the antibiotics i have might do the trick and destroy both germs in one go. she said becasue im under so much stress my immune system is low so i am abit more susceptable to germs and them getting worse atm.
the gp said to make an appintment next week and becasue i usually book online i didnt stop at reception- the gp put an urgent ring for the reception to ring until i answer give it three goes otherwise she was sending someone out to check on me.
but i answered the first time but they told me that as well.
they said she wants to actually see me twice a week and if i dont come in or i dont ahve a valid reason then they were sending someone out.
so they rung me and made an appointment for wednesday and friday next week.
i also ahve my nurse next wednesday as well and
next wednesday i also have my first psychologist appointment with the new one
that is alot of appointments but i guesss if its going to help me stop going to hospital then its what i have to do.
she was debating whther to get me into hospital right now but i kind made a promise that i would keep myself safe until i see my psychitraist and also if i get anyworse or if i start making plans than i call the hospital
gah i hate gp sureaching- i really hope you find one soon. i think its pretty important for you
thats ok booking ahead is good- keeps you focused on whatever you need to do and puts abit of structure in there
can you try a different dr surgury even if it means travelling jsut abit further?

Re: Complex PTSD
Some weeks I feel too overwhelmed to even do that.
Time will come when I have to.
I had my girl up at the hospital recently. That was enough, lol. If that makes sense??? 😊
The GP is really looking after you. That's a relief to have someone actually care and take notice.
I hope the antibiotic clears up both the problems.

Re: Complex PTSD
lucky for me @Former-Member my gp practice does online bookings so i dont have to ring thank god for that otherwise i prob wouldnt have these appointments
and yeah it makes sense- i hope your daughter is starting to feeling abit better now
and yeah it actually shocked me with her responses as well cause i want expecting it, i think my usualy gp either is lost herself and doesnt know what to do or is completely sick of me- i dont blame her for that im sick of me too
yeah i hope this antiobitoics clears up both too that would be good- ive alread had antibiotics for the cyst before so this is the second time round which is frustrating!

Re: Complex PTSD
I had a go say, there's nothing wrong with me. 😂 Hmm! I really DO NOT like being like this, lol. As if I have nothing better to do.thsn see a gp. I think they only know so much and we have to do our own research, unfortunately. It is very frustrating, I know.
I think with ptsd, we are more vulnerable to picking up things, infections etc.
Our mind/body is constantly in iver drive.
My girl us still on anti biotics. Getting better. High school is stressful. 😣😨

Re: Complex PTSD
yeah i i guess when you put health anxiety, depession gad, social phobia and complex ptsd all together it proba makes it harder for them too @Former-Member
yeah i know its not like im here no for no reason lol
yeah i think thats what she was getting at today about the immune system
oh dear i hope she gets better soon!! and yeah high school is stressful, what year is she in?

Re: Complex PTSD
Thanks for offering to help.
Thankfully her dad is able to help too.
And me, sometimes, lol.
Not with maths though
Oh my gosh! Maths is so hard now.
I only see gp if I have to.
Most of my help comes from my own research.
Hopefully my next gp will be more helpful.
I don't even understand myself, so, no wonder they don't. Complex ptsd is exactly that, COMPLEX .
Plus the rest, like you mentioned.

Re: Complex PTSD
oh shite thats really not a good time to be unwell @Former-Member
im not great at maths but i did do maths for my hsc as well and english too so if i cna help in any way feel free to ask. yep i agree i often wonder where half the crap i learnt in math comes into life- unless you want to be a mathematician, math teacher, something in in the engineering or buidling field you tend to not need them. the stuff ive learnt i ahvent used since i left except for finance working and credit card =s but i dont have a credit card.
im glad her dad can help- i had no one to help me and i think i spent more time with teachers then i did elsewehre becasue my mother dropped out in year 10 and when i asked for help even in year twn she said wtf is that so i stopped asking lol and realised ill get further on my own and asking teachers
yeah reasearchquite alot but when i come across something bad or really unseful it sets my anxiety off so i have to limit it abit unles its more coping stratgies or some sort of service im looking at. i use to go to my gp like once a year if that before and and that was often only for being sicka nd needing antiobiotics now i got twice a week!
and yeah complex ptsd is so friggin complex its rediculous!

Re: Complex PTSD
For when I go clothes shopping. 😂
Important stuff. 😂
I don't have a credit card either.
I honestly don't know how my daughter got A in maths. I look at it and don't understand it at all. Her dad is pretty clever. 😊😀
