For me today, the highlight of my day was finishing the most annoying round of crochet in a blanket I have been working on for months. This round has taken me so long and I've found it so frustrating that I didn't think I would ever finish the project. Stitch by (incredibly frustrating) stitch it came together. Super excited to get to change colours and start the next round now!

I know that if someone had figured out earlier that I was autistic, my world would look very different now. It is too late for me in many ways, but hopefully the next generation of autistic people will fair better than I have.
Sometimes when you are different you just need a different song.

The highlight of my day is being able to walk my dogs today. i can't always get out, because of pain or brain, but today I walked int he sunshine for 3/4 hour with my beautiful dogs, posted a letter (yes with a stamp in a post box! Old fashioned I know!) and cme home to have a coffee, do the busget and pay some bills online. Now I am away to finally get on to making that dog coat - haul out the sewing machine, make the pattern, create someting... Waves to everyone. I am travelling well, so will make hay while the sun shines. Love to you all.

The highlight of my pretty long, emotional, tiring, busy day, was a random surprise visit from a school mum with her crew of small people.
The house looked the most chaotic it's been for a while as I was doing a big clean. There was (is still) stuff everywhere, we were all (are still) a bit feral looking, and I most definitely was not prepared for it.
They're our first and probably only friends here and it was the first surprise visit we have had since we moved here more than a year ago. We sat in the backyard while all the kids ran bananas, and we laughed and chatted. I forgot about the house and about other things for a while. I felt like the old me who used to love surprise visits and friends.
It felt like soul medicine.

The highlight of my day for yesterday was I travelled to another city and saw a Commonwealth Games event. Better yet I saw a medal ceremony where an Australian won a gold medal. Was pretty awesome, as I can say I was there for that!
