Good morning @Rusty19
Welcome to the SANE forums. It's really good that you are reaching out for support today, we're glad you're here with us.
Thank you for sharing so openly and honestly. I hear you. You're not alone.
Addiction is hard but recovery is possible. It sounds like you really want it and you absolutely can do it with some support. Try and be kind and gentle with yourself.
Have you had a chat with your GP? They can do a mental health care plan with you and refer you to services in your local area. I hear what you said about counsellors in the past, sometimes it takes a while to find the right fit.
Have you heard of Alcoholics Anonymous? It's not for everyone but for some people the fellowship really helps. Here is a link to their website: Alcoholics Anonymous
Here are a couple more links you might like to have a look at:
Help & Support - Alcohol and Drug Foundation
National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline | Medicare Mental Health
SANE offers individual support through the Recovery Club, you might like to take advantage of the free one-on-one sessions and have a chat with someone who will be there to hold space for you. This is not a drug and alcohol "recovery program" but the facilitator might be able to offer some suggestions and strategies.
Here is the registration page: Welcome to SANE’s Recovery Club
I'm sending you all my best this morning.
We are glad you're here with us.
