Welcome and getting started

Lonely .. empty nest

Lonely .. empty nest

Recently moved into a unit by my self

Been a mum since I was 17 ,all the kids grown and left home

I'm all alone in not good in social events I panic about what might happen ..

I'm not close to my family i really struggle to express my self .

I don't understand why I have to be the one to always make contact first . I have to be the one that always call in ..

I work in community age care so I don't feel like park of a team . Around just lonely 😢😢

I hear what you’re saying. Learning to be on our own is had. Stop making the 1st contact as they expect it from you. Put yourself first as you deserve to be.

You have got this. Treat yourself with love & care

Re: Lonely .. empty nest

Hi medogcat. I find myself in the same position. Two children, 6 grandchildren and just discarded. It hurts.

I've had to move from being stalked by an ex partner. Sold my house and now working hard to save. I'm 62 and feeling its all futile.

I wish I knew a way to make my life more complete too.

What do you like to do? I like the beach, reading, haven't drawn for years but used to love it. I hope you can find some peace and something fulfilling 🙏

I used to love the beach and reading. @grace26 The season for more beach visits is coming up.

@medogcat Empty nest, and being alone can be so hard. I hope you can find some good in times of solitude, and find enough social connection to relieve the isolation. Have you heard of u3a? https://u3aaustralia.org.au/
