Go Claquers!
In times of yore, many theaters employers professional clappers spread through the audience known as 'Claquers.' Their job was to rev the rest of the audience up and is still used today with some speakers.
So many times when we struggle, we lose faith in ourselves and life begins to spiral downward. But why not 'install' a few claquers of your own in your own internal landscape? In other words, why not create your own characters mentally to boost you up when you doubt yourself? Sounds a bit silly perhaps, but consider that you don't have to tell anyone, you can create as many as you like, and they work for free!
In the book 'Think and Grow Rich' by Napoleon Hill, he talks about creating your own 'mastermind' group. This is essentially a cognate of that. With practice, these creations can become quite realistic and take on a character of their own (don't worry, you will always know what is real and what is imagined). Essentially you can become your own therapist in many ways with this technique, and at the very least, the buds of positive change can begin to fruit for you.
