Something’s not right

Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

@NikNik did your giant nutella jar run out of gas last night or something? I have just woken up and found you didn't do a fly over the ocean. I guess you ran out of gas. It's ok isn't it. The thoughts and feelings around abandonment are just thoughts and feelings. You are still there really. Probably you just ran out of gas and it would not be safe to fly over the ocean when your giant nutella jar is low on gas. Look at me, I am challenging my thoughts and feelings around abandonment. Good job me 😊. Um...but now I really do need someone to swing by. @Former-Member can you please check in just so I know you are watching over the ocean?

Re: Riding a wave

Figured I'd just drop by (big splash, 0 points scored for the dive) to say hi while you're waiting @Phoenix_Rising. You're doing well to challenge those thoughts.

@Phoenix_Rising I'm on my rock stack little turtle - my wings are a little damaged so I won't be flying off anywhere soon - nowhere I'd rather be than watching over the ocean and waiting for you to start floating/swimming back to shore

Howdy @Phoenix_Rising

I just got an image of a helicopter with a giant nutella jar dangling below it.

We may not say it, but we're always overlooking the ocean.

You're not alone.

Hey @Phoenix_Rising - I'm not too far from bed but wanted to come past and say that I hope today has been a good day. Im also hoping you've managed to work your way through the marking without it being too draining.

Thinking of you

Re: Riding a wave

Good morning @Shaz51 , @CheerBear and anyone else around. Wow, you are a VERY bright yellow colour @Shaz51

I am feeling much calmer now after my week on the only-safe-to-take-for-a-week medication, and my relatively positive session with (A) on Monday. I've got just one more of these assignments to mark (and then there will be two more where the students got extensions, down the track). It has been a really valuable learning experience but FAR OUT it has really taxed my puddle brain!!!!

Something feels odd...even though the waves have settled a LOT, somehow I still don't want to come out of the ocean. I think I feel safe here. I think maybe I have found a nice balance between having others nearby, without feeling smothered. Is that weird? I guess it isn't really...given I'm a sea turtle.
