Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

my bad @Phoenix_Rising

What would a Nutella free @NikNik be like then ...full of hot air.... (is that better???)

Re: Riding a wave

@Zoe7 maybe that's why @NikNik has to have a steady stream of nutella - otherwise she would fill up with hot air and float away.

I'm going to go and play my violin for a while now...while simultaneously eating nutella with @Former-Member on the ocean and secretly hoping that a flying nutella crepe suddenly falls out of the sky onto my head. Thank you for brightening my day.

Re: Riding a wave

Hi @Phoenix_Rising and all who are in the ocean at the moment ☺

It's great to hear that your sleep issue has been solved! I'm a little jealous that you can get that without the side effects. It's such an annoying problem of mine :face_with_rolling_eyes:

I am SO glad you have TTT and that you and her seem to work so well together. I love that she can know without knowing (and I also wish you could clone her!). I feel like I really need to work hard at not using my lizard brain also, especially while I am zero to a million in a flash. Maybe we can work at this one together but not too. It is SO hard sometimes though.

Guess what two littles had for dinner tonight? One had a McChicken with no chicken and one had a chicken wrap happy meal with no chicken. We confused the person behind the counter so much that I almost had to mention that we wanted puffer fish's chicken nugget happy meal with chicken 😆 I thought you'd get a giggle my littles liking chicken things as long as they don't have chicken, seeing as you remembered I like banana everything except banana (and same with strawberries) as I read over there ➡️

I hope violining felt good for you this afternoon and that you caught some sunshine today ☺

Re: Riding a wave

@CheerBear I am ROFL at you and the LF confusing the poor person at McDonalds. Were the LF ok with you putting in this order? When I was little, if my mum did something like order a McChicken with no chicken I would be like "muuuuuuuum you are soooooooo embarressing!!!"

We should definitely work at not using our lizard brains together-but-not. TTT and I talked about how EVERYBODY uses their lizard brain sometimes - even her! She described how when she is working, she is consciously super focused on keeping her feelings little because her feelings need to be little in order to contain her clients' big feelings. She talked about how this means she goes home pretty tired and being tired makes it hard to not let her lizard brain come out. It was kind-of cool because it both showed how human she is and how super switched on she is when she is working. Given my oh so many bad experiences of MH professionals reacting to my big feelings by losing control of their own big feelings, it felt super nice hearing TTT talk about this stuff.

I super hope you can find a medication that helps with sleep without icky side effects soon @CheerBear.

@CheerBear will I be able to snuggle in your pocket tonight? I have big missing-River9 feelings.

Re: Riding a wave

There's lots and lots of giggles each time @Phoenix_Rising we put in an order like that and bets on how confuddled we might make someone! In saying that, I am apparently definitely not allowed to sing really loudly while waiting at the drive through because that's sooooo embarrassing (but I do anyway) 😆

Absolutely everyone would use lizard brain sometimes, I agree. A definite must have in my list of things that make a helpful helping person for me, is the ability to own their human-ness. It's so great to hear TTT sounds is so aware of hers. My lizard brain tends to come out wirh tiredness too and the fish and I can find ourselves all using lizard brain when we're all tired, which get very lizardy (I am so going to be using this explanation with firey clown fish who I think will really appreciate it!).

I'm very sleepy already after working in the garden and doing the feeling feelings thing, so hopefully that will be enough tonight. I'm not far off bed now (want to call by one more thread before I go) so I'll say night.

And yep for sure (I just got your second post via email). Pocket open and ready. I will miss River9 also. Snuggle well.

Night ☺

Re: Riding a wave

Good night @CheerBear. I will be up for a while yet, but I will sneak into your pocket super quietly so as not to wake you.

I agree that the concept of lizard brain would be super helpful to explain to the LF. There are lots of cool youtube videos on it, although I noticed that they vary a bit in terms of what exactly they define as lizard brain. Some of them seem to be suggesting that the limbic system is lizard brain, whereas TTT (and the video I posted) identify it as an even more primative part of the brain than that.

TTT was also saying today how even though it is tricky when individuals use their lizard brain, it is usually much worse when organisations collectively get stuck using their lizard brain because the consequences tend to be far more wide reaching and cause a lot more hurt to a lot more people. It is definitely very very tricky being on the receiving end of an organisation stuck using their lizard brain.

I have such a funny picture in my brain of you and your LF ordering food at McDonalds. You do realise that every person who has ever served you at McDonalds has probably ended up in therapy, right?

I'm glad you are sleepy after your day of playing in the garden. Here's hoping this means a restful night's sleep for you ahead. Goodnight my super awesome not-friend.

@Former-Member are you watching over the ocean tonight? I have super big missing-River9 feelings.

I'm going to go and snuggle into bed (and into @CheerBear's pocket). I think I will practice my crocheting. Do you think I can practice my crocheting in CheerBear's pocket? I'm not very co-ordinated with it yet. I hope I don't poke her!

Night Forum Land.

I feel super alone in my muddle. I have giant missing-Cherrybomb feelings. I miss River9 and M and J and F and N. I feel utterly alone...mostly because I AM utterly alone here in the real world. 😔😔😔😔😔
