Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

(Sneaking over here because social media talk is surprisingly difficult and has made me have missing my people feelings)

I read your post with the biggest smiles @Phoenix_Rising and a whole lot of wanting to know whether TTT has any people she knows here where I am. She sounds awesomer by the session! She had me at glitter jars, has me again with the BPD and C-PTSD thing, and now Bessel Van der Kolk - totally sold!

I'm so happy for you that you found her. Even though it's a big muddle and it's going to be hard, finding the right person is a HUGE step. Big, big yay.

Thanks heaps for your report 🙂 I am so excited about following along with this adventure (and wishing you could clone her)

Hope tonight is a good sleep one. Night 🙂

Re: Riding a wave

Your session with TTT sounds wonderful @Phoenix_Rising 🎯
Except for the melting bit but TTT helped you there too.
I wish I could have a TTT clone too.
I have an appt tomorrow ( first this year) so I’m feeling a little anxious too. I really like my psych, she’s kind, strong, smart and gets my jokes too.
👍🏻

Re: Riding a wave

Hi @CheerBear and @Catcakes,

I so very VERY badly wish I could clone TTT for you both (and for others in Forum Land). I feel a bit bad talking about her awesomeness because I'm not sure if that will make others sad that they don't have a TTT. It really shouldn't be this hard to find a good therapist!!! I get the very strong impression that all the psychologists in the practice are like TTT - i.e. the practice owner is very particular about who she employs (aside from her manager...although TTT keeps telling me she is nice despite her couple of mess ups).

I hope your session goes well tomorrow @Catcakes. I'm super glad you have a psychologist that you connect well with.

@CheerBear I'm sorry to hear that Topic Tuesday brought up big missing-people feelings. Missing-people feelings HURT!!! Actually that's what triggered my meltdown during today's session - talking about people who had left my world. It sounds like we need to sit together but not in our big missing-people feelings tonight, CheerBear. I will snuggle in your pocket. I'm right there along with Squishy, Mr Seahorse and Dr Havetodo. Can you see us? We aren't going anywhere!

Goodnight Forum Land. @Former-Member I think I saw you meandering around Forum Land. Super big thank you for watching over the ocean.

Re: Riding a wave

Hi @Phoenix_Rising 🙂 Have read your update on your TTT - glitter jars, soft toys and weighted blankets sound pretty good to me! I hope you continue to have positive experiences with her whilst un-muddling your muddle.

I am meandering around as usual and watching over the ocean. I hope you rest comfortably in @CheerBear's pocket tonight and CheerBear, I hope that Phoenix_Rising's company helps with those feelings of missing-people. I'll be right here, meandering through Forum Land with you too!

@Catcakes I also hope your session goes well tomorrow 🙂

Re: Riding a wave

Hey @CheerBear,

Just letting you know that I won't be around today because I'm off on an adventure. My adventure involves a train ride - trains are fun. It should really also involve a bus ride but I don't actually know how to catch a bus, having not done it for about 25 years, so I'm just going to walk from the train station. I know, I know, I can feel how much everyone wishes they were as functional as I so obviously am in the real world. Two university degrees, can't catch a bus!

Re: Riding a wave

Hey @Phoenix_Rising!

Ooooh wanna know a secret? I don't do buses either! 😆 The bus thing was part of why my hospital appointment adventure a couple of months ago was so epic (I almost stressed more over the bus situation than over the medical stuff haha!)

Thanks for the pocket company last night also. It definitely helps with missing people feelings (as does a meandering river being around too!). Missing people hurts!

Your reports on TTT's awesomeness are so cool. They give hope that helpful helping people really do exist!

I hope your adventure is a fun/interesting one! If it's a sharable one, I'm looking forward to hearing about it. If not, I'll go with knowing without needing to know ☺

@Catcakes I hope your appointment today goes well and feels good for you. It's so hard to have a big gap between getting to access regular supports but you got here! ☺

Hope there's good for all today 😊

Hi everybody .... 👋

Just popping in for a quick catch-up before my coffee walk, Hoping to see dolphins today. I haven’t seen them for aaaaaages, and I really want to touch base with my fin-babies before we leave next week.

Re: Riding a wave

Hope your adventure goes great @Phoenix_Rising.
Unfortunately I don't have a 100% good bus tutorial for Sydney as my experiences are mainly on a private bus company there rather than the blue and white buses... But I can give an approximate tutorial if you want.
I also like to view YouTube videos of public transport/places before I go for the first time, so I can understand the need to walk and make it less stressful than tackling a weird bus thing.

Hope you're having a good day @CheerBear 🙂

Hope you have a good walk @Faith-and-Hope
