Something’s not right

Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

Thank you for dropping by the ocean today @Sans911 and @Maggie. I love that picture, Maggie!!!!! I will post my playlist of stories in Forum Land sometime over the next few days for you @Maggie.

@CheerBear I'm sorry to hear that today was a tough day in your world. I'm super glad you were able to practice opposite action and make it to FF. I will wander over there --> now to see if you have shared about your tricky day.

Most of my day was good, but it went awry this evening and I have been practicing opposite action too. I am to have my first contact with TTT on Monday. I am looking forward to this. However, the issue is that they are insisting that this initial phone call happens from my GP's office. Both my GP and my turtle whisperer have explained that the safest place for me is at home, but TTT (and I think more importantly her supervisor) is saying I have to be with the GP "to help keep me safe." Even just typing that phrase makes my stomach turn. I am the expert on my life and I know that the safest place for me is at home. I feel super angry and disempowered that an "expert" who hasn't even spoken to me thinks she knows what's best for me, better than I do. Big grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Still, I am trying to tell myself that they also think they know better than my GP and my turtle whisperer, so it isn't just me that they are putting down here.

Only THREE more sleeps until NikNik gets home!!!!!!!! Less than 60 hours now if she arrives at 8am. Sixty hours, we can do sixty more hours can't we @CheerBear.

Hey @Former-Member, when NikNik appears, am I allowed to jump off my pause button, swim into the beach, wrap my flippers around NikNik's leg and never ever let her go? That's my plan. I hope she made lots of nice memories on her holiday because clearly they are going to have to last her the rest of her life since she will never ever be allowed to leave Forum Land ever again.

Are you watching over the ocean tonight @Former-Member? Can you maybe give @Former-Member a lesson in ocean watching because she didn't appear last week.

Night Forum Land. Just three more sleeps and then NikNik will be home.

Re: Riding a wave

Morning @Phoenix_Rising ☺

I woke up and while I was making my coffee I tried to work out what 60 minus however many hours it was since you posted last night was but, yeah, nah. However many it is, it is totally doable. It is hours not weeks now. You've done so well sitting on that uncomfortable pause button ☺

I didn't really write about my day yesterday. I feel really stuck because it didn't feel right to say anywhere. It's such a tricky time of the year. Maybe I will vent some of it somewhere over that way ➡️ soon and try to get it not so stuck inside.

Your first contact with TTT is a bit exciting (scary maybe?!). Big grrrr to professionals not respecting that you really are the expert in your life. I can so much understand why home would be safer, and being that feelings of safety are SO important with these things, that makes me angry to hear you can't do that. That line has done a similar thing to me. It was behind a pretty big 'moment' between my MH worker and I. Hearing you. I am looking forward to hearing how you get on with the call and have everything crossed.

Let me know if you want to tag team some of the DBT adventure anytime (I think you would anyway but wanted to remind you it's totally ok with me if you want to). It's really cold and rainy here - perfect blanket making weather which is what I am about to do. LF all have crafty things they want to get to too which should keep them busy and happy.

Hope you have a weekend with good in it ☺

Re: Riding a wave

Good morning @CheerBear,

I look forward to hearing about your stuckness if and when you choose to share.

Thank you for validating the icky feelings around the "keep you safe" thing. It feels super super super yuck because I've had so very many bad experiences due to people wanting to keep me "safe." Being told "to help keep you safe" makes me feel super super super unsafe!!! I'm super glad that you get that.

I still super want to do the rest of the mindfulness module. Have you made any progress on the next one? I really thought we were finding our rythem the other week...and then the tsunami hit. Oh well, we are getting lots of practice at waiting!!!!

Just over 48 hours now CheerBear!!!!!! How super awesome is it going to be when NikNik appears!!!!

Well this was just a quick flyby. As always, I will be here even when I'm not - as I know you will be too.

Re: Riding a wave

Hope your day is going well @Phoenix_Rising 🙂

I haven't started writing the next bit because I think it might take a little while to get to it. Once you've written your next doing bit I might have a better look at it though. This has been great practice at proving to myself that the world does not end if energizer bunny bear goes slow sometimes 😉 Great to hear you're still keen on doing the rest of mindfulness. We will find our groove again, I am sure.

I'm making a little fish in a jar and it's making me smile as it could easily be a pocket crew member 🙂

Glad you're here even when you are not 🙂

@CheerBear and @Former-Member less than 36 hours now!!!!! Two more sleeps!!!! Just two more sleeps on my pause button. I super super super super can't wait for NikNik to come home to Forum Land.

I have had a calm day (I super like calm days). I hope you have had some good in your day too.

@CheerBear I would super like to see a little fish in a jar.

Re: Riding a wave

In about 3 hours time you will be able to say that tomorrow is the day NikNik is back @Phoenix_Rising 🙂

One LF in a jar 😉

Calm days are fab! Happy to hear today was one for you 🙂

Re: Riding a wave

@CheerBear I am eagerly awaiting the picture!

And yes, in less than three hours it will be NikNik-coming-home eve. Did you figure that out all by yourself CheerBear or did puffer fish have to help?

BTW, have you listened to "Giraffes can't dance." If I could, I would buy that book for puffer fish for Christmas. Sometimes when you are different you just need a different song. I SUPER love that line!

Re: Riding a wave

Haha 😆 At least I got it right this time 😉

I did listen to Giraffes Can't Dance @Phoenix_Rising (but was hit with some huge feels that night). I will listen to it again and show a Puffer 🙂 it's a great line, I agree!

Re: Riding a wave

I can't sleep but that's ok because NikNik is coming home TOMORROW! 😊😊😊

Re: Riding a wave

Guess what book Puffer Fish is getting in their present in 22 (or 21) days @Phoenix_Rising (hopefully it arrives in time)? I'm going to look for a little turtle sticker to put in the inside of it as a sneaky way of reading it together when we do.

Hope your day has been great/good/ok enough 🙂
