Something’s not right

Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

@CheerBear @Former-Member @Zoe7 @Faith-and-Hope

Finally FINALLY I have been heard. The important person who made the amazingly unhelpful suggestion that I write a formal complaint called me and I have now had the conversation that I've needed to have for the past three weeks. As expected, I feel a bazillion times better now. FINALLY one part of the muddle has been unmuddled. Why it has taken three weeks, I still have absolutely no idea...but I'm just eternally grateful that it has now happened. There was a LOT of getting my big feelings out during the call and I am super grateful that she was able to ride through that enormous storm with me without doing the super unhelpful thing that so many people do when I am superly duperly dysregulated during a phone call. The wrong of that fateful night exactly three weeks ago has now been made right. I cannot begin to tell you how much this call should have happened within days of the incident. It would have saved SO much pain and chaos.

Anyway, maybe @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member can let the important person know that I said a superly duperly big thank you. I'm still angry that it took three weeks...but I am superly duperly grateful that the call has now happened. I will be able to sit much more calmly on my pause button now while I wait for NikNik to come home. I will sleep well tonight. Super super super big thank you important person.

@CheerBear @Former-Member I know how much you totally get the utter absurdity of being told to write a formal complaint when you have a broken brain. It's like telling someone to run a marathon with a broken leg. This is another example of how hopelessly ill-informed helping people are about the effects of trauma on the brain. I so very very badly want to change the world.

Finally, @Phoenix_Rising. A few tears of relief may have just leaked from my eyes (just like I may have yelled at the computer screen earlier about writing a letter). I am so glad it finally happened, so glad you were finally heard by the right person, but still so so sad that you had to endure three weeks of waiting.

I second the super big thank you to the important person. I’m also grateful that she was able to ride through your getting out of big feelings. So glad you were heard, @Phoenix_Rising. 🌷🐢

I really look forward to the changed world. 🌷

Re: Riding a wave

@Former-Member will you watch over the ocean tonight? You've never been on ocean watching duty before.

Today has been SO horrendous...but it has ended up SO good, and all because of one phone call that really should have happened twenty days ago. These past three weeks have been so so so SO bad and yet one phone call has turned it all around.

@Former-Member can you please make sure someone tells the important person about what an absolute world of difference the phone call has made? I feel a trillion times calmer. I can think clearly and my whole body has relaxed. I am so very very very grateful that she called. I'm puzzled about why it took three weeks, but so very glad it finally happened.

Only 4 sleeps now until NikNik gets home and then we can start unmuddling the Forum Land muddle. I will definitely be able to stay on my pause button now. NikNik will be home in less than 90 hours now. That's not long. I can stay on a pause button for 90 hours.

Night @Former-Member.

Pssssst @CheerBear @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope @Former-Member and anyone else who might be counting down days. Did you know that today is the eve of the eve of NikNik-coming-home-day eve? Assuming NikNik appears at 8am as she sometimes does, that means it's less than 72 hours. I super super SUPER can't wait for NikNik to come home.

I feel a billion times better today after having had the conversation with the important person yesterday. @CheerBear I think I will be able to actually open the DBT manual over the weekend!!!! I almost certainly won't get the next installment of the DBT adventure written by Monday, but I am confident I can make some progress on it. At least we've been able to take the DBT distress tolerance skills for a good test run over the past three weeks. And the fact that I still have a 100% perfect success rate of surviving every day living with BPD shows they must work.

I will be at my volunteer gig today, but I intend to be at FF tonight. I hope everybody's day has some good in it.

@Phoenix_Rising - so good to hear things are getting better for you. It's been hard to watch you suffer so much.

Re: Riding a wave

Me again 🙂

I hope your day stayed feeling better today @Phoenix_Rising. Today was not such a great one for me and I practiced Opposite Action tonight by coming to Friday Feast. I am so glad I did as FF was a part of the good of my not great day. I am really looking forward to DBTing with you some more when we get there. The Distress Tolerance module should be cruisey after all our recent practice 😉

Yay for skills that work. And huge YAY for 100% success rates at surviving.

Night not-friend. Hope you sleep well tonight 🙂
