Something’s not right

Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Hehehe 🦄

Awesome re the productiveness @Phoenix_Rising! I think that plan/not plan sounds like a great approach 🙂

I so completely totally find the squished/not squished thing too. I think the day you mentioned the module thing might have been a mega squished day for me and at the time I looked at the module at it seemed like a Venus sized thing. Right now, I feel ok which means a module seems doable. Tomorrow I might feel great and if that happens I'll feel like I'll be able to read and review the entire book, enrol in uni, take on a full time study load and learn how to bake macarons. All at the same time 😉 Until the next bus comes along.

All of this coming and going and squishing and mashing, jumbles my head. Look at us though - even with squishy banana heads we're doing this and making wise decisions 😉

Night @Phoenix_Rising. No more sleeps until Monday now, not including tonight 🙂

And night @Former-Member (who I hope is going ok enough) 🌸

Yeah, I'm just going to pretend I didn't say that and that I haven't actually been living a day in front of myself since Friday 😂

ROFL @CheerBear. I did see this on Saturday night. I was too sleepy to respond, but it made me fall asleep smiling. I was trying to decide whether you were assuming I wouldn't see it until Sunday morning, or whether you really are struggling with trying to count to three.

Perhaps when Puffer fish gets home from school today, you could ask them to help you count to three and then back again. Here, I'll get you started: 1 - 2 - 3 3 - 2 -1 1 - 2 -3 3 -2 -1

I am doing an experiment today in DBT world. Actually, I'm doing two experiments. I am a little scared, but I'm telling myself that that is just a feeling and that I can feel the scared feeling and do what I'm scared of doing anyway.

Mindfulness is definitely going to take me three weeks. Are you feeling tortured working at turtle pace? Hopefully now that you are working on the next module while I do this one, you aren't feeling too frustrated.

I hope you had a nice weekend. I did. I will be doing more DBT-ing today, along with some things I need to do here in the real world. I hope today is a good day for you and the LF @CheerBear.

Re: Riding a wave

Good morning @Phoenix_Rising ☺

I have just noticed you asked for opinions on mindfulness and am wondering whether this is part of the experiment. My brain goes into "ahhhh I so badly want to reply to this now" and then another really annoying part kicks in and say "perhaps after I do other important things". Can you hear my brain from Sydney? If counting to three was effort (which it was) you can probably imagine what it sounds like exploding with ideas 😉

This weekend was the longest one ever, with Monday seeming to be always an extra day away 😂 Serious face palming myself and laughing at your help to count to three. Thanks for that!

Turtle pace is totally ok with me. I am learning patience 😆

It's great to hear you had a nice weekend. I did too and spent lots of it in the garden. I also went out with and spent time with a he kind of person last night and had fun. I wanted to whisper that to you. Today I am facing 42 pages of an application form for bond and hunting down a mysterious letter. Pretty much all I have is that I need this "letter". If I pretend this is like a grown up version of a treasure hunt, maybe I can trick myself into thinking this is fun too rather than sitting here wanting to lie under in a blanket.

I have to head off and because of all of that stuff, I probably won't be around today. I hope today is a good day for you and I am very much looking forward to DBTing soon ☺

Re: Riding a wave

I have a super gigantic wave. I need help and there is no help. The wave is really really really big. I so badly need help, I know I need help, but there IS no help.

I’m really sorry to hear that, @Phoenix_Rising. I hope it eases up a bit soon. I’ll be here with you until it does.

Hi @Phoenix_Rising,

I'm sorry things are really difficult for you at the moment.

Just wanted to let you know I'm riding this difficult wave with you.

Kindest,
