Glad your sight is good @GezzaP , sounds like a success. I think I was on antiinflammatory drops for 2 or 3 weeks.

The fresh air was nice thanks @MissGremlin . And it was good to see a lot of rubbish gone. I'd got busy with SnapSendSolve last week.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

No @creative_writer no plans for the day, just watching the footy. Hung out bathroom mat that had to be washed because cat had an accident on it. Had a big pasty for lunch that I bought in the local bakery together with a custard tart that I’m about to eat. Not sure what I’ll have for dinner. Maybe a baked spud. My diet is poor I know. Maybe I’ll have baby carrots and peas as well. I’m tired because I didn’t sleep great. I also suspect I’m slightly hypomanic. That doesn’t help with my diet.

How are you today?

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

Just keep tabs on it @GezzaP dont do anything to overstimulate yourself or do anything that will create an upward spiral. Youre getting some sleep I guess its better than nothing. Just closed the verticals, its going to be another cold night. Nothing planned this evening just quiet relaxation

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@Shaz51 aches and pains doesn’t sound good. I hope you’re able to rest up tonight 💖.

@GezzaP I hope you are able to be kind towards yourself tonight. I think it’s important to acknowledge it’s been crazy on your end with both mental health and physical health struggles. Cooking can be tiring. I hope you sleep better tonight.

@Shaz51 @GezzaP I’ve had a surge of emotions while processing my past trauma. I’m holding up okay, it’s just been crazy

@SmilingGecko I am trying to keep it under control.
Don’t know what time I will go to bed tonight see how I go.
Puss sitting in front window so have to wait for her to settle then I’ll put roller shutter down. Put kitchen shutter down and drew curtain as neighbour goes to bed around 5pm. He sleeps from then until 6 or 6.30 but he wakes in the night and reads.

He is a lovely neighbour. Bumped into him when I walked up the shop this morning. He offered to help anyway he can which is nice of him. I can’t drive or get on public transport alone atm. He said he would drive me if needed, but I only like to ask him when I’m desperate. Otherwise I get a taxi. It is cold here but I’ve still got the dining room door open because I smoke in there. The bedroom balcony door is open too because I like to sleep in a cold bedroom. That’s what menopause does to some women.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

Good to read so many here.

I hope the evening is kind to you as you head toward a restful night.

For those of us who struggle find peaceful sleep let's bop those sleep monsters on their noses. Whack!

If you'd like something to ponder how about this:

Why do we say silly things like"warms the cockles of my heart, I know it like the back of my hand, how's your noggin, full up to kitty's bow, how's your bum for grubs etc"

Strange creatures aren't we?

Be safe all.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 6th June 2026

@Dimity I’ve got 2 different bottles of drops. 4 times a day for first week, then 2 drops per day until bottles run out. No idea how long this will be. Having 2nd eye done 2nd July.

Transport is a problem as I need an adult to take me and pick me up and stay with me for first 24 hours. Friend who did first one didn’t stay for 24 hours but stayed overnight. He took me to 1st post op appt. I was fine though. No pain in eye so far. Got another appt next Friday.

I have a series of appts over June, July and August. I am thoroughly sick of it. Aging sucks. Haven’t been the same since menopause and my bipolar has gotten worse.
