Worried about using lifeline too much

Worried about using lifeline too much

I have a psychiatrist, psychologist and OT but I’m really really struggling. I’m worried I’m using lifeline too much (used maybe 4 times in last month) and that they might tell me off? How much is too much to use lifeline? Last time they recommended suicide call back service but I didn’t want to annoy anyone cause they weren’t active immediate thoughts with intention and a plan but they were still distressing me. Tonight I did something really dumb but again there wasn’t an active plan with intention and I really want to talk to someone about it but I’m afraid I’ll get into trouble

OMG, @Llamadrama1212

I'm so glad I found you again.

I was almost at the end of replying to you when my ride to an appointment arrived.

Took some fiddly searching as I didn't remember your tag, not sure if we can save incomplete messages so starting again.

Thank you so very much for inviting us to share your journey and for being part of this forum thread.

You must never give up reaching out for support in any way and any where you can.

You are never "bothering" anyone by seeking help no matter where you are in yourself.

Those who choose to take on the wonderful opportunity and responsibility to provide acceptance and advice do so because it's a truly uplifting experience ✨️

We often find it almost impossible to imagine that we are important and valuable participants in this realm we call humanity.

Please, please, please don't hesitate to grasp any help you are comfortable with at any time you need it.

As corny as it sounds "we're all in this together " AT ALL TIMES

Go gently dear friend 🧡

Taali

I have tagged others here as affirmation to you.

Re: Worried about using lifeline too much

Yes I rang mental health triage. The guy was incredibly invalidating just kept telling me I needed to calm down and that there was nothing they could do as I already have a psychologist and a psychiatrist and said “see despite all this you got a uni degree”. And just kept repeating a million times that I needed to calm down. I had an appointment with the intake worker who was incredibly invalidating and rude to and kept saying “you have to want to help yourself”

I was told by lifeline to use suicide call back service.

What’s the beyond now app?

Re: Worried about using lifeline too much

@Llamadrama1212 I'm so sorry that the experience you had with them has felt invalidating. Have you spoken to your psychologist and psychiatrist about ways to help in those situations where things are feeling hard to cope with?

Keep reaching out when you feel you need to, I've found with any service that it can be hit and miss with who you connect with at the time. We are always here for you ❤️.

With the beyond now up i found this bit of info written about it for you ☺️.

Beyond is a suicide safety planning app from lifeline. Safety planning can help if you're having trouble coping, or when you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings.

You can use the app to create your own easy-to-follow plan to help you in those moments when you can’t think straight.

Your plan is personal to you and includes steps to help you:

  • know your warning signs, so you can act early
  • make your environment safe by removing harmful items
  • distract yourself with activities you can do or people you can be with
  • remember things that make you feel strong.
