Worried about using lifeline too much

Worried about using lifeline too much

I have a psychiatrist, psychologist and OT but I’m really really struggling. I’m worried I’m using lifeline too much (used maybe 4 times in last month) and that they might tell me off? How much is too much to use lifeline? Last time they recommended suicide call back service but I didn’t want to annoy anyone cause they weren’t active immediate thoughts with intention and a plan but they were still distressing me. Tonight I did something really dumb but again there wasn’t an active plan with intention and I really want to talk to someone about it but I’m afraid I’ll get into trouble

Hey @Llamadrama1212

I really don’t think you’re bothering anyone by using Lifeline. People call for all sorts of reasons, not just immediate danger. You deserve support before things reach breaking point, not only after. And you don’t have to earn help by being in the worst possible crisis. If tonight feels heavy and you want to talk to someone, that is enough reason to reach out. Hope you are ok.

@FridgeMagnet @Llamadrama1212

@Llamadrama1212 do you know that feeling you don’t think even lifeline can be bothered with you ?
that’s why you are having help.
they don’t mind - many years ago I used to do Salvation Army care line counselling I can definitely tell you there is definitely no too many callers.

you can just have a nice cuppa tea and come and say hello to us because here - we listen or read each other.
On the tabaluga line I think it’s called,

Re: Worried about using lifeline too much

Hello @Llamadrama1212, I hear your concerns but they are there to offer support in moments that are hard to manage alone. I can honestly say that I talk to lifeline on a daily basis often multiple times a day. It's never a bother to need support and it's better to reach out than to sit alone and for things to get more intense.

You've been incredibly brave to reach out here tonight and we're always here to listen aswell. Be gentle with yourself and know that you're not alone ❤️.

I just reached out to suicide call back service and I now feel even worse than before I reached out to them 😭 basically told them the method I was planning (no date yet and unsure if I’d follow through) and said I know that it is an incredibly selfish and bad thing to do. And the response I got back was essentially yes it is. Then just got what self care can you do, do you pets and do you have a psychologist

Re: Worried about using lifeline too much

@Llamadrama1212 I'm sorry it's left you feeling worse off. Have you ever rang mental health triage in your state? That could be another option if you're needing a bit of extra support.

Sending some hugs your way if you'd like them ❤️.
