Welcome and getting started

Life

Life

I’ve been going through a lot lately and it’s been heavier than I ever expected. Being away from my kids, only seeing them every two weeks, and dealing with the system has pushed me to my limit. I’ve been trying to do everything right, but it feels like no matter what I do, it’s never enough.

Yesterday I drove halfway to Port Macquarie trying to make it to the visit, and I just broke down. I turned around because I couldn’t keep going. The pressure, the distance, the constant feeling of being judged — it’s been too much.

I love my kids more than anything, but this whole process has worn me down. I’m exhausted, overwhelmed, and I’ve felt like giving up. I’m sharing this because I don’t want to hold it in anymore. I need support, and I’m trying to be honest about where I’m at.

Re: Life

I hear how heavy and exhausting things have been feeling for you lately, @zoo . Being away from your children, carrying the pressure of the system, and feeling as though no matter how hard you try it is never enough sounds like so much for one person to hold.
I also hear the pain in describing getting halfway there and reaching a point where you just could not keep going. It sounds like you've been pushing yourself through so much for such a long time and has reached a point of feeling worn down. I noticed too that even whilst feeling overwhelmed and exhausted, you spoke about how much you love your children and your decision to reach out instead of holding all of this by yourself. That shows so much strength and takes so much courage.
We’re really glad you shared where you’re at with the community tonight. 🤍
