Locked out/in

Locked out/in

Hi everyone @Appleblossom @Zoe7 @Shaz51 @TAB @Bow @Dimity 🙂

Haven't been here a while, welcome to anyone to comment and say hi!

How are you?

Im struggling a bit with the NDIS at the moment. My funding was cut a great deal. I had decided to go on a carer respite while i still had funding, tongiht, but it went very badly 😞 i am now back at home. I hope everyone is doing okay x

Re: Locked out/in

its a he @EternalFlower it was a stray, got beaten up badly nearly lost an eye twice, so thought I had better get it desexed, tagged, chipped, vaccinated well and claim it instead of wondering where it went all the time. found him 500m away one time after asking on fb

he's still a cat , just a lot friendlier now, ok maybe not going by scars on my hands ok thats play

@Dimity @TAB i don't know much abotu how mental health services work but more and more it seems like funding can change things.
I'm sorry if its affecting you. So sad about your cat 😞 Sending support.
That must be very hard for you there.

Thanks for welcoming me back. i think finding the right words are hard for a lot of us at times. I always want to get a cat and never do. Maybe its time I just did it lol.

Re: Locked out/in

Sounds like he needs cat toys @TAB . Ball of scrunched newspaper or a trailing piece of string?

Re: Locked out/in

Thanks @EternalFlower I miss him quite a lot.

Re getting a cat would you prefer a kitten or an older rescue? I've decided not to get another cat, I have no fallback for care and it's a big responsibility.

Re: Locked out/in

@TAB Sorry my bad. I think I even did that as well one time before. Does he seem more relaxed and comfortable with u? That's nice that you took him in. He looks very fluffy and fancy

I grew up with a stray cat that we took in, she was also very tough. I can't say she ever changed too much, maybe lost a little of the "edge" but she was always a more aggressive, scratchy one.

Re: Locked out/in

@Dimity thats why i don't get one... i worry if i'm in hospital what to do with it . I understand. It must be a hard time, i'm sure you miss him so much 😞

I have looked at cats from 1 year old, I don't know if it is hard with a kitten? I'm comfortable with cats generally but never raised one on my own. We had them as kids, but I wasn't responsible, my Dad was. My friend always sends me rescue cats from a website, but they often have serious problems and need medications etc and I wander if I'll be able to manage them. Its also financially a little bit of an investment, as I'm on the DSP

Re: Locked out/in

no he was always a 'puddy cat' despite thinking had had to fight everything that moved @EternalFlower took years for him to let me hold him though

hes not nasty, says hello, says goodbye, smiles, i would have started playing , he has his limits

Re: Locked out/in

Bonding with a kitten is really nice @EternalFlower and they're gorgeous but can be a bit rambunctious. And depending on age there's the vaccinations and desexing. I've also taken on adults and a senior over the years. Almost always at someone else's request.
