Moody yet Lost

Moody yet Lost

I feel in limbo,

I never feel great, but when I get asked how I can be helped I freeze. I don't know what will make me happy and free from moodiness, my social battery gets depleted quickly, I overthink quickly and I have been diagnosed with adjustment disorder

Re: Moody yet Lost

Hi,

That sounds both awful, and very familiar. Well done for actually reaching out, though, and looking for help. I have no advice or ideas, but I can definitely appreciate the feeling.

Take care of yourself, and stay around, the people here are lovely.

@moodyahhhhh

I hear you. That unstable mood thing makes life hard. Not being able to find a level I know it well.

Hope you can find the gaps in the fence to see the view.
Keep on keeping on,

Re: Moody yet Lost

Hey @moodyahhhhh,

I currently feel "frozen"/"in limbo" myself... I don't know your situation, but I hope it helps a little bit to know you're not alone in those feelings.

Since you tend to overthink, is there something you like to do that enables you to feel calmer or distracted for a while? Maybe reading a book, playing a video game, watching a movie? It doesn't have to be heavily social. Or something that induces pleasant feelings of nostalgia?

Remember that moods ebb and flow like waves, that they can improve with time. Ensure you're getting proper rest and enough exercise as well. Especially with anxiety, a physical outlet can relieve the weight of the spiralling thoughts and a rested brain/body has greater capacity to regulate emotions and also lessen the levels of cortisol that cause those spirals in the first place.

I hope you begin to feel better with the advice here.

Re: Moody yet Lost

Thanks for sharing. I have borderline personality disorder. I don't know what adjustment disorder is

I just started sane forums....I dont know if I will like it

I used to attend grow group . Grow groups can help. It's face to face once a week and you meet people. I haven't had time to do any artworks or anything creative. Just consuming news media and playing junes journey game on pc.

Hope people are ok. Wish I could rescue people but nowadays it's just spend some more money that I can't afford....

Re: Moody yet Lost

I don't know what an adjustment disorder is either @moodyahhhhh . Can you elaborate a bit?

@Lozenge , I have BPD too. Over the years I've learnt to manage (after some intensive therapy) and things are pretty good - I can't complain. Glad you can connnect with us on the forums!

Re: Moody yet Lost

@WretchedKid i feel anything i try do to distract myself with overthinking respawns when the distraction ends, I feel exercise is something I should do again but often lack motivation to do

Re: Moody yet Lost

@Lozenge unfortunately it sounds like grow group is a paid program, i really wish there were face to face programs really close like walking distance to me

Re: Moody yet Lost

@moodyahhhhh , I'm actually the same where it comes to distractions. Physical exercise is most effective in my own experience. They say motivation doesn't "come" to you, it comes from small actions that you continue. Is there a type of exercise that you enjoy doing that you could do in bite-sizes to start building motivation?
