Recently diagnosed with PTSD

Recently diagnosed with PTSD

Hi there have recently been diagnosed with PTSD and it has been challenging to say the least. It's an early diagnosis. Constantly feeling very nauseous and have been put on medication (type edited by moderator) that doesnt seem to be helping with bad anxiety and panic attacks. Anyone else experiencing something similar?

Hey @Misty7

Receiving a PTSD diagnosis can feel like an overwhelming amount to process, and it is understandable that things feel especially challenging right now 💚

I do wonder if that constant nausea is because of the new medication, or if it is the body's strange way of staying in a high-alert state, which would be very draining. I do know that when starting off on a new medication, things can feel hit or miss in the early stages as your body adjusts. If you're able to, it might be worth keeping a small log of your symptoms to share with your GP when you see them next, or have someone you live with keep track of it.

In the meantime, have you been able to find anything like a cold compress, a bath or a specific breathing exercise that helps take the edge off the panic when it starts to build?

Please know that we're all here for you 💚

Thankyou so much for your reply. I've been on **medication (type edited by moderator) I wake up multiple times in my sleep and feel the panic and cannot stand been left alone whilst my partner is at work. It really triggers me.

I have edited your specific medication details, and quantity so it sits in line with our forum community guidelines: “Limit Detailed Descriptions”.
