Re: Saturday Soirée- 4 April

Hi @Mustang67, for me, the days of easter were days I did less than usual.

I like the picture you posted though, because I like walking in natural places and will do some of that next week.

I saw you had some easter decorations which looked like a bit of fun

Re: Saturday Soirée- 4 April

Hi @Till23 I like going for walks in nature. Except I have chronic back issues at the moment and I can't go walking. But I am going to start to rectify that within the next couple of months.

Regarding the Easter decorations, yes, my sister loves decorating the house for every occasion and usually does balloons as well. It costs her a fair amount of money, as she also purchases a cake to go with the decorations from the Cheesecake shop. Really, she can't afford it, and I asked her why she spends all that money on decorations etc today, when really, she can't afford it, and her reply was that we might as well enjoy ourselves now as we don't know how long we have got left on this earth. And our mum turns 86 this month, so we don't how many Easters she has left in her. And she is right.

A couple of years ago when my dad turned 86, she did her usual decorations and cake, and it was a great day celebrating his birthday with most of the family. And it did turn out to be his last birthday the following month, but we didn't know that at the time. So, my sister doesn't care if she goes into a little bit of debt, as long as her family enjoys their special occasions.

And every year when it is the anniversary of the date she left her abusive partner, she buys herself a bunch of flowers and a numbered balloon for how many years they have now been apart. Good on her I think, those sorts of things should be celebrated, as it took her a lot of strength to leave him and then stand up to him in the months that followed.

Hi @Mustang67,, your sister sounds like a lovely and thoughtful person.. And she is correct,, you never know when it's going to be your last easter, birthday etc.. So it seems it is a good idea to celebrate these milestones if everybody feels happy about it.

I hope you are having a good day and all the best with getting back into walking. It's one of my favourite things to do, you can get some nice scenery while exercising and all the positives of being in nature.

Re: Saturday Soirée- 4 April

@Till23 yes my sister is very thoughtful and I appreciate everything she does. Since moving into the caravan, she has been helping me out with the things I can no longer do because of my weakness and back pain.

I have spent most of the day on my laptop creating birthday images and messages to send to my daughter on Wednesday. She will be 17. This AI is amazing and has created some beautiful heartfelt messages for me to send her. And all done in her favourite colour with images of her cat & dog on all pictures with balloons etc.

Because of all the time I have spent in bed with my depression over the years, I have muscle loss in my arms, legs & back. So only strengthening exercises will build the muscles back up again. I really enjoyed going for my walks over the years and I am looking forward to be able to get back into it.

Enjoy the rest of your afternoon.

Re: Saturday Soirée- 4 April

@SaltwaterSoul I hadn't seen my daughter for a few weeks, so I went and picked her up and drove her back to my mums to spend Easter Sunday lunch with my mum, one of my sisters and my partner. It was nice with just us, as if the whole family is together, it gets too loud and then some family members don't get on with of other family members, and they end up arguing. It was nice just the 5 of us.

As soon.as I am around my daughter, I feel so happy and complete. So Easter Sunday was good.

I can't wait to find a rental property somehow, so I can have her living with me again. I miss her so much.

Did you get up to much?

@Mustang67

That sounds like a really lovely Easter. I’m soo happy you got to see your daughter, it sounds like such a special and meaningful time, and it makes me happy to read. I hope you will find something soon!!

My Easter was good, my husband was actually working most of Easter this year, which felt a bit different. But I ended up having a good time anyway, spent some time with my husband's parents and then I got invited for Easter lunch at some friends place. It was just really nice to be surrounded by love, and good people,
especially as I’ve been feeling a bit sad and down lately. My friends’ dogs were also so excited to see me, which I absolutely loved. I love dogs. I loved how they all came running over and just wanted to snuggle and rest their heads on my lap. We had some really great conversations, and the food was wonderful. Today my husband had the day off, so we went for a few hours bush walk together, which was great. 😊

Re: Saturday Soirée- 4 April

Awwww @SaltwaterSoul that sounds awesome. Sorry to hear that you have been feeling sad and down lately. It is never a nice feeling. I am so glad that you enabled yourself to be surrounded by love and good people. I don't know about you, but sometimes when I get sad and down, I shut myself away from everybody, which of course is the wrong way to go. I have finally realised that on the occasions when I did force myself to socialise, even though I didn't feel up to it, I did start to feel better, just by being around people. So, I am glad that you did go out, even though you might not have felt up to it.

I love dogs too and they know when people need that extra bit of attention and loving. Being around animals, especially dogs that I can cuddle, is my happy place. So, I can certainly see how being around them and having their attention would make you absolutely love your day. I am so happy that things turned around for you and you had a great day.

Do you have any animals at home? They are great companions.

WOW going on a few hour bush walk, how I would love to be able to do that. I am that that fit any more, plus I have chronic back issues. But I plan I rectify that situation very soon. That would have been so nice spending time with your husband on a bush walk. How often do you go bushwalking? And what sort of scenery do you get to see on your walks?
