Re: Being a overthinker
@Determined that sounds like a very difficult work situation you were in. It does sound like those you worked for were greatful of the work you did genuinely (people dont often buy chocolates or cards in my experience!) but tht as you say, they raised concerns to your managers because they knew you were doing your best but the higher managers (organisation) were not supporting or listening to the efforts. I'm sorry that the managers turned it back on you and deflected it. Sometimes i have known managers to be nicknamed "teflon" for this reason.
Myself... i am grateful that i dont find it hard to accept positive feedback/compliments. At times they can feel meaningless to me (eg if i dont think the person is genuine because behaviours dont match their words), but its not hard for me to say "thank you" (meaning it) and keep going.
Other times, when i see the person is genuine it is meaningful for me and encouraging.
I recall being "prepped" by my manager whilst walking to a meeting i was presenting at for the first time (manager wasnt going to be present at the meeting). I was warned that *nothing* gets approved the first time around, and that I will be grilled over tiny details and not to take it personally. ...outcome of the meeting - my paper was approved without any difficult questions because i had already included answers to them all in the paper (just needed to direct them to the paragraph). And later that afternoon my manager came by my desk and said, "wow! Even xxxx was impressed by you today!" This person had a reputation for being picky and "difficult to please" (but i'd never worked with them myself), so i knew that was high praise. Within 3 months that "difficult" person was an informal mentor to me, and later became a deeply trusted friend. But to this day, his compliments (and even his caring criticisms) are some of the most meaningful things because I knew they were genuine.

@tyme re: Web Dev easy fix -- here is my proof I am not "all talk" or making this up.
Would be very happy to work with the SANE web team for this specific issue for free (volunteer) if they would like, as I also think both the Quote and Trigger Box are important features for mobile device view too.
I only needed to edit (temporarily disable in my browser) 3 lines of CSS to do this. It took me less than 5 minutes to investigate and solve. 🤗
That's really helpful. I've passed it on to the web developers @AlwaysMyself
