Re: Being a overthinker

Thats the third conversation about internet and money probs this week. Too frequent these days. Lots of automatic processes. Hasnt always made life easier.

Hope you get it sorted soon. @Shaz51

Re: Being a overthinker

So it doesn't work on phones @Chasingsunsets ?

I know the phone has a condensed version, but I wasn't sure which functions were available.

Re: Being a overthinker

@tyme @Chasingsunsets there's also no trigger warning feature on the phone view

Re: Being a overthinker

Yep @Dimity . That's the main one I wish we had. I've asked about having it and the tech just doesn't allow it for phone mode @Chasingsunsets

I was created with a heart that cares.

Knowing how to care about and for others but care less what people think about me, that is the key for me.

@Determined Nailed it. 😍

@Shaz51

"Talked about what the issue was this morning. So glad it was not me that was the issue."

So glad you were able to talk about it and thus learn that it wasn't you that was the issue and that there was other reasons. 😍🤗.

I have often found being forward with someone to ask them "did I do something wrong? I'm sorry if it did; please tell me" goes down pretty well when I am confused by a lack of response from people. (It doesn't always work -- there is a risk they do perceive you have "done something" which is actually not true or not your fault - but I guess then you can also have that knowledge to then evaluate yourself (or with a trusted 3rd person, which is what I do) whether there is merit in their reaction or whether it is actually a "them issue" not a "me issue".)

Also re: centrelink. That sounds super stressful! I am so sorry you have that also go on on top of everything else currently. 😢🤗

@Chasingsunsets *hugs*. Plus those Silly Sock Space! remind me of ones I posted there earlier this year about being a talented over-thinker (top left - the green & yellow ones).

Also, re: quotes from people's posts. I can only do it when on my laptop, not on a mobile or split-screen view (i.e. smaller width of screen). On a laptop/wide-view, there is a button to the left to the Trigger Content Box button, with the "quote mark" icon as per @tyme post/image. As a (former) web developer, if anyone wants an explanation for this (and/or how to change this) please just ask 😊 - and yes, this includes for the Trigger Box icon too. There can be adjustments made in their CSS to enable it to appear, they just need to edit the code!

@tyme re: Web Dev easy fix -- here is my proof I am not "all talk" or making this up.

Would be very happy to work with the SANE web team for this specific issue for free (volunteer) if they would like, as I also think both the Quote and Trigger Box are important features for mobile device view too.

I only needed to edit (temporarily disable in my browser) 3 lines of CSS to do this. It took me less than 5 minutes to investigate and solve. 🤗

@Shaz51 @AlwaysMyself

Likely a common thread here but part of the overthinking process for me makes it hard to accept compliments or encouragement/ positive feedback. In a world where nothing is good enough and a lifetime of trying to please people (and I am far from alone in that lot in life).

In a job I left early last year (best described as an operational support role)

I had leadership telling me everyone disliked me because I was unapproachable. At the same time said staff were giving me boxes of chocolates and encouragement cards saying we see you and appreciate all you do.

There was an element of reluctance to come to me with problems, not because I was unapproachable but people could see me sinking (organisational restructure and dramatically increased workload). The message to leadership was that I needed help.

I left without notice leading into a critical event after bursting into tears in front of someone at work offer something stupid and insignificant. I was not replaced.

My next job that was casual fill I had people thanking me for all I was doing and really struggled to receive that feedback.

Background to all of that, my wife was borderline suicidal and if we had adequate health cover I would have been encouraging a hospital admission.

Past all that and back in full time work.

Again finding it hard to be confident in positive feedback.

I would be interested to hear others experience and thoughts with accepting positive feedback in relation to being an over thinker.
