Re: Being a overthinker
I just watched it instead of getting ready for work. It’s me to a T. It actually exhausted me while listening. I’ve just realised that I haven’t really been overthinking too much while I’ve been so stuck in freeze. Some overthinking but not to the extreme as normal.

I think we are all guilty of being an overthinker at one point or another @Shaz51 @Captain24 @Spirit_Healer @NightFury @MissGremlin . I know I was for years and years. The rumination was extensive!

rumination, trauma, autism and adhd are bad bed fellows

@Shaz51
Yes we both over think
How do we cope?
Not particularly well.
Medication helps darling. Takes the edge off. Still presents significant challenges though.
I just have to suck it up and burn through. Have tried different strategies with limited success. I do have chronic insomnia as a result. Has been a problem for me for longer than I can remember.
Apparently I just need to care less 🫤

@Shaz51 Thank you for sharing.
I learned a new word earlier today/yesterday, and it directly relates to this.
“Perseveration”. For me, I came across perseveration within the context of it as a common thing in autism - but acknowledging this “overthinking” and continued focus on a thought for "longer than helpful” can have many reasons (not only autism 😊). That is to say — I relate to the video you shared too.
