Tactile Hallucinations

Hi,

Does anyone experience tactile hallucinations? I've been having the for 12 years and they really upset me.

Hey @Psyche11, thanks for shaing your experiences with the community!

I can really relate as I have had tactile hallucinations as well and also share a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Glad to hear that you have overcome them and not letting them impact you.

We also have this thread https://saneforums.org/t5/Our-stories/Hearing-voices-and-psychosis-%EF%B8%8F/td-p/1682014 you are welcome to connect with others there too.

Take care

@RiverSeal Hi, Do you have techniques to distract you from them, or any other techniques to deal with them? I'm really sad that they will never go.

Re: Tactile Hallucinations

Hey @Akarsha, I found that my tactile hallucinations like my delusions slowly went away once I accepted my mental health diagnosis (which took a long time and a lot of reaccepting). Now I am not experiencing them and can recognise if they are trying to creep back in or I'm feeling a bit vulnerable. Acceptance was a big part of my recovery, and it allowed me to move on and live a meaningful and fulfilling life rather than being overwhelmed by my experiences. RiverSeal
