Re: thought cabinet

Interesting viewpoint @mallory_strife . Thank you for sharing.

So with how you current see things, is it working for you? Or would you like to see something shift?

Re: thought cabinet

i wish there was a way to bump threads but this forum's UI is particularly atrocious and i've been on a lot. i am struggling to see a point in writing here when i might as well be writing to a wall. i am just continuing to stew in my bitterness. i can't talk to anyone today without sounding like such a bitch

i think about how in the potter-efrons' anger books they talk about people with an angry spirit who never quite get there and just spend their days silent and broody and driving everyone away. and i more or less think i will end up like that

Hello @mallory_strife,

I thought I would pop in to reply to your message. 💛

If you go to our home page and look at where it says 'latest discussions', you can also see 'latest posts', which gives people an opportunity to look at recent messages. Sometimes tagging people can be helpful too! Especially if you are needing that extra support. @Shaz51 is really great at supporting with this process.

Regarding how you are feeling, I completely get what it's like to feel completely entrenched in big feelings and frustration... anger is hard to hold, hey? It can be so all-encompassing when we haven't had a safe space to explore what might be underneath and to have it held with love and understanding - which you absolutely deserve.

I am sure you have been in therapy before, but I am curious to know if you have any supports at the moment?

Hey @mallory_strife ,

Do you think you need to speak to someone from Lifeline at the moment? I hear things are so hard.

If so, please call Lifeline 13 11 14

Members are asked to post in a recovery-focused way. That is, to let the community know how they can best support you. You can read the guidelines here: https://saneforums.org/t5/help/faqpage/title/community-guidelines

Support looks different for everyone, and hence, if you can be clear about what it looks like for you, then the community can hopefully reach out in a way that is helpful for you - within the bounds of what the forums can offer.

Re: thought cabinet

@tyme i came close to doing something tonight but i am over that now

i can't call helplines when i'm in an angry state because they'll tone police you to hell and back and can't handle someone in fight mode

i want someone to at least talk to me and ask questions and pay attention, though. i'm typing so much out and the rare reply feels like the person only read two sentences of everything. i am the sort of person who always cuts my expectations by half but that is demotivating

Re: thought cabinet

Hi @mallory_strife

Reaching out when you are feeling overwhelmed takes a lot of strength, and I am sorry to hear that your experience with this has felt unsupportive. I wonder if there are any short term strategies that might be helpful when you experience this anger? Sometimes breathing exercises or grounding techniques like the 5-4-3-2-1 senses can help to feel a bit more centred in these moments, which might provide some support when connecting with crisis services.

Wanting someone to talk to, ask questions, and pay attention is completely valid. Feeling heard and seen is so important for our mental wellbeing and it is not too much to ask for. It is unfortunate that your experience here has left you feeling that people only read two sentences of everything you type and you receive but a rare reply.

I am glad you have continued reaching out to the forums despite these thoughts and I hope that you will be open to giving the forums another chance to support you. Your voice matters here.

I am concerned to hear that you came close to doing something tonight. While I can see that you are over that now, I wonder if you could share a bit more about what you are doing to stay safe tonight?

I also want to let you know that I had to make an edit to your post to remove the comments about a named service, this is to make sure that your post is in line with the guidelines.

Re: thought cabinet

Hey @mallory_strife ,

I'm hearing you and want to acknowledge the strength it has taken not to reach out to services with you have been feeling angry.

We recognise you are wanting to connect with others, so we encourage you to reach out to others here and in real life. As you reach out, talk to people and ask questions, they may do the same in return. This is the nature of relationships.

If you want, there is a social thread running at this moment which @Shaz51 has started. https://saneforums.org/t5/Social-space/Sunday-Coffee-and-Chat-1st-February-2026/td-p/1810403 You are more than welcome to connect if you feel up to it.

Re: thought cabinet

last shift done. i'm probably not even going to get $300 for that

i need to job search again but i have been so lazy because every step of the application process sucks and everything feels out of reach for me and i am struggling to understand why i wanted a job in the first place

i talked with an online friend last night about her self-improvement plans and because i am a walking rain cloud i had to derail it and talk about how my life keeps getting smaller. i was telling her about how everything seems to require so much energy and resources i don't have and i accepted that my relationships are all going to decay and i am withdrawing from people. she tried to tell me not to in her own way but i don't know if i understood it or if it had the intended effect. i know this is rich coming from me, someone who is equally as terrible as comforting people due to my strange worldview

i hate how dependent and paranoid i get. my jealousy means that everyone is a reflection of my shortcomings and being around people is too overwhelming because i have to narrativise and judge and compare 24/7

i finished early so i was going to settle down with a movie after dinner but instead i spent an hour doomscrolling and now it's too late for movie
