Wednesday Coffee and Chat -- 14th January 2026

I could have hung my washing on the lines under the verandah @MissGremlin like @Shaz51 does, but I prefer the sun to shine on them. If it rains for days I put it on the verandah.

I used to have raspberries and a passionfruit vine. I have my own blueberry and blackberry in pots, so they don’t produce much but they are yummy.

I wish I could get more done @Shaz51 but at least I managed a few things.

Tomorrow I will meet up with some ladies in a pub where we meet weekly to play a game like cards or backgammon that type thing. I quite like it, it gets me out and it’s social and I usually get a coffee and occasionally something to eat. It’s good for the brain I think, now I’ve retired.

we have a few ladies groups in our town that i could join but have not yet

i have been invited to the op shop one where i worked before i got married and where my auntie, cousins help out too and my mum when she was here

I moved when I was in my late 50s @Shaz51 so I don’t have any history or associations here, so I actively have to seek out things where I can meet people. I don’t know anyone here to invite me!
I have only been playing this game since the middle of last year, so about 6 months. I am not too bad at it and win at least once every week.

I only started my sport since I’ve been here, that’s been good for meeting people and learning things about the place.

I hurt my back really badly @Shaz51 . So angry at myself for trying to lift something. Just been to chiro. Feels a bit better now for a little while anyway. Go back Monday. In a lot of pain here. Getting spasms. Hope you are ok.

Im just back from my walk @Shaz51 and now enjoying a cup of tea in the air con.

Today I went to the GP to get a MHCP to get referred to a psychology clinic of my choice (I hope the new psychologist I’ll meet soon uses an approach that I’m looking for as she’s a lived experience neurodivergent herself).

also checked my blood pressure and did a non-fasting blood test. Blood pressure is normal as always.

anyone here have heard of ‘celebrity worship syndrome’? I think this is something I’ve been having for a while…there’s both good and bad about this kind of condition but more so bad, depending on the level….
