Yes @tyme

Yes. the fear of disclosing. Sort of made worse by any trauma inflicted the last time you were at the psych ward. That makes you think twice because one doesn't want to go through that stinging pain again if they can't help it and the way they run the places, one has to go through it again! So to minimize the pain, one is disclosing minimal information.

I hear you loud and clear @RoutineNicotine . I've had it happen to me so many times, and yes it can be so traumatic. I recently read an article on the news about this - the possible retraumatization in psych wards. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-01-05/patient-traumatising-hospital-care-act-crisis/106157462

I really hope you find a way to get the support you need. I don't know much about you, but do you have people in your circle you can lean on?

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 10th January 2026

I have read the linked article. It hurts because of the failures I have seen and experienced. By that logic, I could have prevented becoming a forensic patient a while ago if they took me seriously in stead of letting me get worse to the point I can't respond to the police properly. (and I got worse to the point that it needed police intervention) if they had have sent me to the psych ward when they had the chance that morning, then things could have been different. That morning I needed to be pumped full of antipsychotics and told to chill out, instead of energy drinks and ciggies. If that happened, it could have prevented crime. I only done those wrong things because I thought I was under "duress" (If I don't do it, the spies will be after me.)

I might be salty now because there were multiple chances of intervention that day and it didn't happen.

Hey @RoutineNicotine , I'm so so sorry to hear this. I really hear you.

Yet I should also say I can see it from the 'other' perspective when really, medical teams really don't know what to do or don't have the resources to do what they would like.

I remember being an inpatient, and the nurses were run off their feet. At times, I just needed someone to be there and to listen.

Hang in there mate. We are here for each other.

I remember the last time I was inpatient too. It's brutal all round. (I'd hate to be the nurse! And I have sympathy for them since I have seen what they have to put up with.... I was going to write about what I would do if I was subjected to some of the abuse nurses have to put up with and... I'd get censored on this forum. Long story short, I don't have what it takes to be a nurse, especially in MH.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 10th January 2026

I agree. I wouldn't want to be a nurse either... and maybe that's why I'm not! But believe it or not, I did want to be in the medical profession at one point...

I just feel nurses have to put up with so much while their hands a tied. I take my hat off to them and I know that those who stay in the profession do it because they love it @RoutineNicotine
