Introducing myself (trigger warning)

Sorry I just realised I should introduce myself.

I'm 55yrs young just recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder. 2025 Not sure yet if its 1 or 2

November last year 2024 was diagnosed with ptsd, anxiety and depression.

All this has started due to my brother. Doing wrong by me since my mother and fathers health deteriorated

My father passed away August 2023. Then mum was placed in a nursing home same month.

He is wanting everything for himself financially. He has turned family and friends against me, all I have is just my husband.

My memory is poor and concentration is difficult.

I have had problems with S***H*** when things get bad I have had to go to the ED.

Am seeing physcologist & physciatrist. Have been put on mood stabilzer and antichycotic tablets.

This is all foreign to me.

I hope by joining this site I will learn alot.

At times I don't know who I can speak to if I need support..

Welcome @Abby6_2025 , im glad you've reached out.

A number of people here have experience with bipolar, anxiety, depression, medications, SH, and family challenges.

Myself, I have chronic depression with SI. So i understand the depression side of things often, and to a degree the SH. I did SH as a teenager, but was able to stop many years ago.

Is there specific questions you have about any topics you would like to ask?

Is your husband a good friend and support for you?

Its so much harder without friends and family for support. We're here with you. 😊

Well, a bit about me socially... 🤔

I have 2 large dogs. I recently separated from my partner, so most weekends he has the dogs and during the week i do. (Usually, that is. Currently i am away visiting a family member so i don't).

I have interests in "anything unusual" 😅, pets, and travel. I like the idea of (and try to do) crafts, figure-painting, dungeons & dragons, and catching up with people for a coffee and chat. (I say i like the idea because i usually do not enjoy it at all now days, but that may be due to MH and fatigue). I used to do baking but it is too tiring.

I like learning languages, but forget them over time when i dont use them. But pick them up again quickly when immersed. However i am only fluent in English and Auslan. But know bits of German, and still little pieces of Indonesian and Russian but these 3 have faded alot without usage.
