Talking through trauma and PTSD

The me no one knows - SI warning

The me no one knows - SI warning

I’ve made this space to have somewhere safe to talk and share things.

to chat with every one who has shown concern about and for me.

I have spent almost all my life masking, from as far back as primary school (possibly younger).

almost no one knows the real me. Not sure if I even know the real me.

my past is filled with lots of darkness. People I’ve tried to speak with during my life either don’t believe me or don’t want to know

@AlwaysMyself @Bunniekins @Captain24 @Cuddlebear @rav3n @Jynx

hiding behind the mask pretending nothing is wrong. Putting on brave face whilst inside I’m a shattered pieces. Feeling lost and completely alone. No one wants anything to do with me. Relatives only contact when they want something. Going to bed every night hoping to never wake again

@tyme The most painful things for me are callus on one thumb joint and seeing or hearing the soul destroying ‘H8’ word.

doubt I’m the only person on the forums for which that 4 letter word causes emotional distress/nightmares

Thank you for the reminder @Flutterbug9 . Yes, it is a very very strong word indeed, but I'm mindful I have used it in the last 2 days. I can't remember what it was about.. I think it was cooking.

But yes, you're right.

Thinking of you. Hope today wasn't too bad.

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

@Flutterbug9 Hello 🙂 How are you? Here I am back catching up again. I’m going from oldest to newest so it will take a little while.

Is your hair cut next week? I’m really glad you have a catch up too with friend. School holidays being over this week the cafe will hopefully not be as busy too. Most kids back at school by Thursday I think it is.

It can be hard when raised with certain things as taboo Eg female body. I’m really glad you are now going for the type of look that's comfortable to you.

It’s good the neighbour and yourself have been able to have some chats and get to know each other too. Those community connections are so important.

It's awful the way some medical people talk. My GP had done fortnight visits basically as punishment. I wouldn’t further table and he said if you don’t I’ll only see you fortnightly your choice. It’s not what he should have done. The weekly visits are to keep on top of the high blood pressure and chronic symptoms of taper. All I want is quality support from GP. But now I feel anxious and like a burden going to them. Like I have to toe the line and it’s just hard.

Im glad you were able to advocate for your husband because the medical people really don’t listen or sometimes even respect what a patient is saying. It can lead to very bad outcomes for patients.

Re: The me no one knows - SI warning

Hi @Cuddlebear that really sounds rough on you what’s happening with your GP. Anywhere else you can go to help with monitoring your blood pressure?

totally reasonable to expect good quality support can care from GP. Saddens me that this isn’t happening for you.

before transferring to my current GP I used to attend a medical clinic, closest place to me that was accepting new patients when I moved from one town to another. Was good ages as could ask for, and majority of the time, see same GP. Few things said by that GP during first few months after my husbands cancer diagnosis caused my upset, distress and feeling of lack of support. Horrible feeling.

when I think back over the years, I do wonder if my father would have preferred a son. Wondered if my mother would have dealt with things differently if I had born male.

I haven’t been on the forums last couple days. Got triggered by something on the forums that sent me spiralling. Struggling again today. Feeling very low, no interest in doing anything. Want to curl up and stay there. I’m safe. Wish I wasn’t though

@Flutterbug9 Hello lovely. How are you?

The bras are annoying and being too heavy I can’t use much else for support. I have to feel my way around the clips by bringing them to from them turning bra over to back. I’ve gotten used to it with practice. I have limited sight with no focus so everyrhing blurry. My hearing is very poor I don’t rely on it much for safety. My seeing guide dog is a big help. Hearing aids help a little in very quiet places but outdoors not helpful. I qualify for cochlear but don’t want them.

@Flutterbug9 Hello lovely. This silly support button isn’t working driving me nuts.

They are beautiful affirmations. I really want things to be so much better for us all.

Yes we’ve all come through the hardest of days. I’m just exhausted from it. I safe just exhausted.

@Flutterbug9 Love these so much! They look like a lot of fun too! Do they take ages to put together? Do they work via a remote control?
