General chit chat

Hi@Faith-and-Hope, @utopia, @Mazarita

I'm still not very good at 'navagating' this site, maybe that's why I kept trying 'instant' chat sites - they seemed easier. But I like that messages can be checked, that it's not instant feels like some sort of barrier against instant shock I suppose - though I know this is a public Internet site so anyone can use it. I also think, though I hate the term Mental Illness, as I think it takes all the physical out of it, that the people that cause trauma probably suffer from it, so they would have just as much right to use it. But I feel a bit like typing I think, so I thought I might just blurb a little?
I've went away for a few days. I go every month. I visit the center of my Universe 🙂 The one person who has been there with/for me, their whole life & I believe will remain that way until I die 🙂 . . . & quite the large Family they have provided for me to share in 🙂 I go from, it almost seems like another Planet sometimes, my life is very quiet; to the center of my Universe, which includes 5 grand-children ranging in age from almost 2 to, going on 18; then there's the partner, the partners Parents and a large variety of friends 🙂 I often find myself thinking 'alein sound dimension' - there's so much noise on so many different levels! Every single one of them has every gadget known to mankind, and most of those gadgets make noise! And my World is a lot calmer, with a lot less going on - we're usually driving in the car, taking children to school, doing whatever shopping is necessary for the day in time for whatever seemingly endless appointment is due, . . . by the time my alarm goes off to make sure I wake up in time to get tired in time to go to sleep in time 😄 There's no way I could keep that pace up anymore! After a few days I find myself almost running away with my tail between my legs 🙂 But it's the perfect balance really, I do spend a lot of time alone - apart from my 3 furry, four-legged friends; but I am extremely lucky, my bond with my only child is of a strength I can't see breaking; I get a phone call or text every night & welcomed by a dozen open arms and smiling faces every month. I am lucky, I have a good life. Well, I think life is just a word, neither good nor bad. I have good experiences and I am happy 🙂

Re: General chit chat

Hi Niqua, just a bit later than the pumpkin hour tonight and I thought I'd respond here to your message from a couple of days ago on the other thread. I've had some sleep already tonight, went to bed at 9.30. As usual I am awake again after a couple of hours. Will go back to bed after I've wound down again by writing to you.

I hope you received a call from your child last night. Or, if not, that there was a kind text for you. I imagine that one of these would have been the case because, despite recent difficulties, your child does seem to want to keep the channels of love open.

I'm not really sure what the status of my Crohns is at the moment. It may be that it is in remission for now (which is what the tests over the last year have suggested), but that I have been left with irritable bowel syndrome to contend with at this time. If this is what the specialist meant, this is good news really, even though Crohns never does go away altogether, and can rear its ugly head at any time. Irritable bowel syndrome is a nasty condition in itself but not as damaging to the body as active Crohns. I am relieved that there is nothing sinister showing up in colonoscopy, even if I did have communication problems with the specialist I saw and may be reluctant to go back to that same doctor for this reason. I was worried that the worsening of symptoms over this past year or so might be something much more sinister indeed. I still have yet to speak to my GP and clarify the current status of things and where to go from here. In the meantime, the treatment the specialist suggested is helping to some extent.

I am hoping that you are right, that this difficult time for my friend may have a silver lining in helping her out of a rut she had been in for a long time.

Yes, the allergy to sunscreen has proven itself on two different occasions. In each one, my skin became extremely itchy to the point of burning all over. I was in a lot of distress and had to take antihistamines to help counter the bad effects, as well as endure the itching and pain until the effects of that 'slop' had worn off, which was not very fast. Not in a hurry to repeat this experience at all, so won't be doing that part of the sun protection mantra.

I forgot you have dreads, groovy!

Yes, I fly to visit mum and override my fears to do it. I have explored the option of going by train. But the expense and gruelling nature of such a long, long trip does indeed make it seem like a greater evil.

Yesterday's trip to the beach also had an encounter with a solitary seagull, who circled my head before flapping away up the beach. I had the neurobiological response of smiling when I saw that too.

Cool that you have the ball rolling on registering the dogs. Despite the temptations of ebay, it sounds like you have bought really useful things. I know I have bought a few 'mistakes' on there though, to the chagrin of my small bank balance. Still, with bipolar, out of control shopping can sometimes be a real problem. And I think I'm pretty good with it overall, mostly keep it within reasonable limits.

Thinking of you with warmth and love. @Former-Member

Good Morning Mazy @Mazarita, Claire @outlander, @Faith-and-Hope , @Shaz51 , @eth and Everybody 🙂

Have I been reading that you went to your Doctor yesterday Claire? I hope they were able to help your stomach problems! and that you received your sleep aid medication; which I hope means you slept better last night 😉
Ooooo it's exciting that the picture is nearly finished. I've had a look online and the colour I like is Bay, in fact the specific one I like is called 'Wild-Bay' {quoted from internet} > A bay whose leg black is lowered to the level of the pasterns is known as a "Wild-Bay" notice the mane and tail are still black

...though what I liked about it, is that the horse is a lighter tan colour than the other reddish-brown bays. I've always liked the light brown horses with black manes and tails. If I'm not being tooooo picky . . . I love the white stars on their foreheads too 🙂 😉
Thank you so much for all the love this picture is giving ❤️ Hoping your having a rest on a ledge 🙂
Niqua

Congratulations on the official video screening Mazy! Woo Hoo!! Did I read that it was happening in Melborne while you where going to be there?! That sounds a little bit like something lining-up in the Universe to me!!! 😄 That's a huge place! Fabulous spot for your artwork to be screened so that many people get to see it . . . lucky sods! . . . I wish I was 1 of them!!!!
And Holey Dooley! Break out the fireworks!! The first swim in the Ocean in 2 years!!! Way to go Mazy! 😄 ! My goodness that must have felt good, the cool water on a hot day . . . Aaaahhhh!! :)D I haven't been for a dip in the Ocean for, oh my Goodness . . . years. I used to like finding a calmer spot, where the waves where still big but not breaking; and just float on the surface and bob up and down, with my tummy flying like it was on a roller-coaster 😄
I received my call from my Child last night & it was a good one 🙂 I'm trying to organize a plumber to go and give a quote on the neccessaties of a dishwasher, as if I can manage it, that's what I'd like to give my child for their birthday - I think it would help a lot in there household 😉 I am very gratefully aware that the link between my Child & I was only breifly disrupted for a matter of days; after I had basically 'walked-out' on them {though I had ensured that all the younger children had care arrangements - and the eldest defies supervision} I think it's a sign that my Child understands that I simply was not capable, I haven't given up, I'm still their loving Mother ❤️
I think I'm starting to process what happened with the Gastro Doctor. Was it that he wasn't saying you don't have Crohns, instead he was saying your Crohns is in remission and you were suffering from irritable bowel syndrome at the moment? The fact that you have to say 'If this is what the specialist meant' - to me means this Doctor was not very good, he was just another every-day Doctor, of which they are a dime a dozen, that doesn't know how to explain Medical terms in general public language. What's the use of all those degrees if they can't communicate with the people they spend years learning how to help?!? Leaving a trail of frightened, frustrated souls behind, is not helping!
I wonder if your friends situation brings up fears about your own living arrangments in the back of your mind, if so, take courage from the fact that your friends situation led to her visiting you twice when she had not done so in 4 years 🙂 It's made her fitter and she is managing, she hasn't given up, she's still Ok 🙂
I think the dreads are groovey too 🙂 Though they have some length to them and they're a little heavy - probably not the most practical hair-do for someone with neck problems!?! I normally have them piled up somewhat like a Beehive on the top of my head! 😄
I reckon I'd choose the plane over the bus too, though the truth is I'd choose to drive myself {which is just as long and probably more gruelling because your doing the driving, but if I couldn't take myself, I reckon I'd take the plane?}
Thank the Universe for that Seagull! 🙂 I think I've choose a fine medium for my love to you ❤️ Nothing does it better than Mother Nature herself! 🙂
Next time I visit the next town over I'll roll that dog registering ball a little further. Today I have to go into my little town again & take my car to the mechanics for it's regular maintenance; it has 2 new tyres and a spare back under the back now 🙂 I do try and tend to practical matters because otherwise those matters tend to fall apart . . . but evil Ebay has stolen heaps of my cash on sparkling baubles and totally useless stuff too 😉 I've learnt not to neccesarily go for the cheapest - they might work but maybe not for long . . . and it ends up costing a lot more having to replace things, I've learnt to watch the postage {got ripped off $70 once in postage for a few $1 necklaces!!!} I personally avoid China because the postage can take months!! It's a bit like adding some sort of gambling game to your shopping!?!

Well, I'd better get dressed and get going - I'm already late . . . fancy that! 😄
