Absolutely, didn't make it as a thread to bag out Christmas as much as an alternative to the thread that really badly triggers me, where we can support each other in a safe place to get through this difficult season.

@tyme i think it's mainly a space for support for those that struggle through this time of year. A space to connect and maybe distract ourselves with different conversations ☺️

Absolutely @MissGremlin @avant-garde . Hence I made that post to ensure others are aware of it too and you can all support each other. I don't celebrate Christmas either. I don't do Christmas. I don't do santa. I don't do all that partying. So I get where you're coming from.

My therapist and I came up with a tactic today for shopping centres, something I noticed I was doing yesterday, trying to find a Nativity scene in amongst everything Santa.

I had a dentist appointment yesterday and I said to the receptionist "I see all these Santa's, but where's the Nativity scene?"

She didn't know what I was talking about and she's of the age that she would've learned about it in school.

@avant-garde yes you don't see many nativity scenes anymore. That's actually so disappointing that she didn't know what you were talking about. Christmas has become so commercialised that the true meaning has all but been forgotten about 😞.

I like nativity scenes, so yes

The shopping centre near me has kind of ruined the nativity scene though, they've put a giant Santa next to it with more small Santa's underneath. At least they didn't put him in the manger.
