Self care by growing a garden

Self care by growing a garden

A SOS to any green thumbs out there

I have always found gardening to be therapeutic and it has given me great joy. However, after a major crisis with Mr Darcy's health I have not had been able to get back into it. Have other gardeners suffered from a similar hiatus and how have you recovered and got going again?

Darcy

PS have a spot that needs filling any recommendations for a 1m high cool climate white flower plant?

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Hi @Former-Member, @kubipan.

Worms only eat dead and rotting plants. They haven't got the mouth parts or digestive system to eat anything fresh and green. I'm wondering if it's caterpillars, or maybe curl grubs? EIther of those might be deterred by garlic or chilli spray, homemade or bought. Less so the curl grubs, because they live underground.

Another possibility that just occured to me is millipedes?

Are you able to send a picture of these critters?

Re: Self care by growing a garden

Hi @Former-Member and @Former-Member Yea I'm working on my food forest. I'm thinking about a centrepiece for my yard which bears fruit or something edible. The fig tree is booming. And my next move will be half a dozen garden beds. Need to get rid of the weed pile. Need to get a chook yard at some stage. Plus time to let everything grow. Eude.

@eudemonism
What do you do with your figs? Do you eat them fresh or make jam?
