Through One's Eyes

Through One's Eyes

I have started this new thread for others to share and enjoy The World of Art. The title is a reflection on the many different views and ways of seeing art that is very subjective to the viewer.

Anyone can share a piece they have produced, are working on or would like to one day 'get around to doing'.

Many 'forumites' use art as a form of therapy or grounding/coping strategies - so please also share your experiences of these also.

It is also a place to discuss what people like, dislike are drawn to and the feelings ellicited from producing and viewing any pieces.

Feel free to add images or topics of discussion and enjoy the wonderful world that we can share through Art.

Re: Through One's Eyes

It came out the right way up on my end @Former-Member. Now this is my favourite! The detail in Holly's face is very life like - if you have only been doing this now and then for only 12 months, you really do have natural talent. You are very lucky as I can't draw a stick man. I am the same with my husband with my fictional writing - he is also highly critical and I never show him, so understand what you mean about hiding your art from your husband. My hubby does like my cross stitch now though but saids he would not have the patience. Thank you for sharing - I love art.

Re: Through One's Eyes

Holly came out the right way for me too @Former-Member ..... and it is a stunning piece of work ..... worthy of a frame and a place on the wall ..... if you wanted to, I expect you could sell prints of it too .....

The other pieces are beautiful too, don’t get me wrong, but it is the power of the strong black and white in the image of Holly that is so dramatic and presentational.

So well done @Former-Member .....

Oh, I love this ............ 🌐 💃 🎶

Catching up on notifications while I have a moment and your drawings came up @Former-Member. They're awesome. I wish I could paint or sketch. Looking forward to seeing more if/when you share.

Thank you @Maggie 🙂 That blanket rug thing has a very special place in my heart as it helped keep me going through a pretty hard time. I carried it everywhere for the six-ish months it took to make.

Re: Through One's Eyes

Not sure who to tag so won't tag anyone!

I am not a painter/drawer but I do love craft. I do quite a bit and use it as a strategy to ground myself and to help with my anxiety. I do go through stages where I do a lot and then none! Here are two I have done, very different. I do a lot of xmas ones and give them away as presents too. Will upload more when I have photos of them

First one is a quilt I made. Second one is a small xmas stocking. Had to chop the top of b/c it has one of my kids names on it!
