~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Chinese near me is excellent. Expensive but I’ll get 4-5 meals out of it. @MissGremlin

@Blackcloud oh nice, good film?

I actually think the fact you've switched a lot could be an advantage!! It means you'd potentially have a broader scope and wider range of knowledge to draw from. Even tho I did counselling for example, I had already minored in psych during my first degree - definitely felt very helpful! And it sounds like you're doing what resonates best with your values! Congrats 😊

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@Jynx Yeah it was a good film indeed 👍

and thank you, that’s nice to know. Cause another thing is regarding the course/degree change I would also like to do a Cert 4 in Mental Health Peer Work at anytime soon or in the future, as well as a Certificate course in music or something…

I’ve picked sociology as my minor in the arts degree so hopefully it won’t be as bad as psychology is.

I’ve already had enough of psychology now I don’t plan on going back and study any of the psych units for the rest of my life. 😅

Ooh @Blackcloud I feel like sociology would be fascinating! Definitely a different kettle o fish to psychology haha. Too many stats!! 😵

@MissGremlin Hello friend. How is today? I’m glad Caspar is well and with you. I know it’s hard I truly do. Like you I’m just trying hard to push through the best I can. My ability to post on forums is pretty low. Apologies for taking so long to respond.

Hello @Cuddlebear my sweet, no need to apologise. I also have struggled to post much on the forums so my replies have been delayed. Today I am feeling very emotional, I woke up feeling like i was about to burst into tears. I've been snuggled up in bed with Casper for the morning but I'm about to get up. How are you feeling today beautiful?

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@MissGremlin Hello my beautiful friend. Sending you virtual hugs and love. I am sorry you are feeling very emotional. Taking on new medicine isnt easy and for a short time it does being intense emotions and other side effects as our bodies adjust. It’s difficult to sit with these emotions isnt it. I am really proud of you for having the strength to do this. You can do it and will. It’s totally ok you’ve been unable to be on forums and can empathise with the struggle. You are doing the best you can and it’s amazing because you are doing it during a really tough time.

I am also very emotional, edgy, brain fog, scared and struggling to do any basic tasks. Panic sets I. With so many worries. I know you understand and you’ve been such a kind and loving support here for me. Thank you I am truly grateful.

Im going to try take Wilbur for a walk today if it’s not raining. I feel so guilty if I can’t. It’s wet weather here.
