~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@Appleblossom what a wonderful take on mental illness 🫠

Informative and light-hearted!!

I love it 😀

I'm home after donating blood and feeling rather pleased with myself.

Altruistic? I think not!

Anyway I just spoke to my friend, who is quite disabled and arranged to see her tomorrow for a coffee yoohoo! Here's hoping that she doesn't cancel (again)

It's a dodgy old day here so not doing much 🙃

I'm trying to make excuses for not doing the bathroom....

I don't need a spotless basin and shower do I???

Taali 💜

Ha ha @Taali I am not a clean freak, so cant help you. Not a Home Beautiful girl or 'cleanliness is next to goodness' girrl. However I did clean a dirty bit near my fridge and baked spelt, blueberry and coconut muffins. Thats good enough, so I am "allowed" to go out dancing tonight. lol

I just dont think that way. A Family therapist explained "good enough" parenting to me in the late 8os early and 90s. I dont even think I go into "I am a good girl/bad girl" inner dialogue. My mother wrote I was evil once, when I was 17, and talked about devils making love to her when I was 15, which is probably part of why I left home, plus she would not protect me and used me too much. I just keep away from the Angels and the Devils, and hang out with animals, plants and humans, though that did include going to see the band, the Angels once when a girl from work invited me, a loooong time ago

Tonight's music is light poprock, which is about all my weary old body can groove to atm. I started going this year once per month with a friend.

Hey @DownMoreThanUp there will be a little slot for something as tiny as a needle or paperclip that you need to push in to put the sim card in. Let me know if you still need help. Being an intelligent man you've probably worked it out by now though!

Been praying for you my friend 🙏🫂💜

@ENKELI

I did figure it out. Silly me! Know nothing about phones, only just got one when my wife left. i had a really old one we bought at woollies years ago, but i used it so little we just let the number run out, all the internet apps still worked fine. So my wife and me could text or ring each other whenever we wished when i was at home.

With this phone i did not realise it was in case, and i could just peel the phone out.

.

i always get frustrated when things go wrong low on meds. i was already so frustrated the filing in of forms, trying to get my sim be valid.

The issue is my internet can go off at any time. Mobile internet is a fortune so i bought into a different net work, but i did not know if it had range and how good the connection would be in my caravan.

i had to do it before the bill day comes up, which is an unknown date for me, for my son stopped paying the account. We have shared for years his account with an unlimited high speed provider, sharing the cost. Our son is just 30-35 meters away from our place so easy done. We have had high speed, unlimited data internet like that for years together.

Saved us a bomb over the years. And we hardly ever bother each other using too much bandwidth restricting the other. For our son did most of his downloading in the late afternoons and evenings and me basically mainly night best speeds. And even both downloading gave reasonable speed (our speed ranges between 100-450 Mbps) most of the time. The new one i bought is not even 10Mbps per second and takes a half minute to load a page.
