~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@DownMoreThanUp I prayed that last week I'd find out about the inheritance and got an email on Friday about it. I prayed it would be released this week but God's timing is always perfect as you know. One week won't make much of a difference. I'm already spending it in my head - dental work, physio, gym membership, paying off debts. I told my bro I was going to spend $1000 on lollies and we started discussing the types of lollies I could buy. I told him I was surprised he didn't tell me off for wasting money but he laughed and said "hey, I might do the same thing. I just need to know what you're getting so we can swap!"

We are joking of course but I do intend on getting a couple of "treats" - likely jewellery.

Hope you're doing okay xo

Good to hear you are going to give yourself a treat, that is very important, specially seeing your dad hardly ever did, make up, at least in your own mind, for it. Maybe something precious enough that so it will stay close to your heart. God's knows you hurt the whole process get your hands on this pretty bad the last few months.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@DownMoreThanUp thanks brother. I am wanting to get a South Sea pearl ring. Mum and my brother gave me a pearl pendant for my 40th and my aunt and her family gave me Broome pearl earrings.

The pendant is designed to look like the Staircase to the Moon which is a natural phenomenon that occurs when a full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. The Staircase to the Moon happens 2 - 3 days a month between March and October. I saw the pendant while mum was visiting me in Broome and she remembered it and ordered it for me. So now all I need is the pearl ring.

Good taste!

i bought My wife an expensive pearl ring once, the pearl was also from up North, but with 12 months the pearl came out of its socket and she lost it. i think she had a fake pearl put in instead one got lost to, if i remember well. Make sure you buy one where the pearl is well fastened to the (gold) band, not just glued in a fancy looking setting.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@DownMoreThanUp Yes, I expect to spend a nice sum on the ring. Mum has a friend in Geraldton who has a beautiful boutique jewellery store that specialises in Abrolhos and South Sea (Broome) pearls as well as Argyle diamonds. I am hoping she'll give me a discount if I buy the ring from her!!

Pearls are so fragile, I dropped my pendant and the pearl came loose, fortunately mum was able to get it repaired thanks to the above friend.

Sad that your wife lost the pearl in her ring. Thanks for the tip xo

Yes you got the right connections, that is how to score a good deal, and assure it is quality, for friends do not sell bad quality to friends.

-

please do show me a photo when you bought one, i love to see it on your hand. Pearls have magic, patient Sea Art, is written all over it, i reckon.
