~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

Love the picture of your herbs .

@DownMoreThanUp

You have me salivating

Where did you learn your cooking skills?

Sounds like you're a self sufficient man.

I'm so jealous!

No one taught me to cook. i inherited it from my dad he was good at too. No one taught him either i don't think. Just a skill we born with i presume.

My wife hates cooking and would much rather have a dry piece of bread than get up and cook a meal. So i became the self appointed cook of my families tastes buds. They always loved my food, especially my soups. i love blending flavours, and making my own creations. My tomato soup recipe one of our kids shared at school once their favourite meal and only a little while back someone told me they still used that recipe making tomato soup and how every one who comes around loves it. i had to smile when he said that for i do not even use that recipe myself any more, my tomato soup is even even far nicer now than it was then. But i didn't say anything. Glad some things i have done in my life are appreciated.

My best soup is pea soup. The Dutch style. Very thick with a massive smoked hog and massive smoked sausage, and a fresh whole leek in it. The yellow split peas and leek cooked till they de-solve completely. A big job for it burns on the bottom very easily, even on low heat, and needs very frequent stirring. i soak the peas the night before, in water laced with a tea spoon of bi-crab of soda, which i then drain out and refill with fresh water the next day, before i but it on the stove. That takes about a hour of the cooking time soften the peas. Pea soup is best cooked the day before you want to eat it.

Hello @MissGremlin good to see you! How are you coasting along today? I discovered a sound audio off you tube that heals all your energy bodies - its like having a soothing balm around my aura. It feels so good. I did not know how much wear and tear my energy bodies had. I'm waiting for some serpentine crystal to come in the mail. Apparently if you place it on your crown chakra your kundalini starts to rise. Am really looking forward to getting it in the post

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hello @SmilingGecko sweet, lovely to see you here. Things have taken a really bad turn for me, I've been trying so hard to get support but I'm unable to and battling this alone is impossible (I'm safe). The audio sounds like it's doing amazing things for you, hope your crystal comes soon ☺️.

@MissGremlin I understand how you feel honey having to fend for yourself. Its kind of been the story of my life. It can be very difficult at times especially if you are under the weather or feeling vulnerable. I had to go into retreat yesterday but am feeling a lot better today. I created a blanket fort and just pushed away the outside world as things felt quite intense the past few days. I hope you will be ok. Youre such an angel and could do with some supports in life to back you up! 🩷

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@SmilingGecko I'm glad you're feeling better today but I'm sorry that things got to that point for you. It's so hard trying to manage alone especially with how bad things have become (I'm safe). I've very much been hiding away from the world aswell and haven't been as active on here either as I simply don't have it in me. Thankyou sweet ❤️. I hope you have a good day ❤️.
