~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

Hey hi hello! Welcome to the second iteration of...

~ The Toolshed ~

I decided to make a new thread, as the first one had errors and phantom pages, and was getting quite long! You can still find all the amazing pics, inspiring quotes, and uplifting messages of the first Toolshed here.

What is the Toolshed? Ain't a place to hang your hammer! Hehe this is a space where we can share the things that have helped us in our recovery. Tools, coping skills, inspiring ideas, and messages of hope and growth, is what this space is all about!!

You can stay connected and up to date on this space by favouriting, or by subscribing to the thread - head to the top of the page, and find the three dots to the right of the thread title (next to the star), click, and from the drop down menu you can 'favourite' or 'subscribe' - and clicking the star itself will also favourite the thread for you.

Favourite threads are then always available in your favourites list which should appear on the right hand side of most forums pages - or you can go to your profile and scroll down to the 'Favourites' section under your recent posts.

If you subscribe, it means that you will get a notification every time someone posts something new in the thread. So up to you if you simply want it to be always accessible, or if you want all the updates, or both!

I invite anyone who wishes to contribute to do so! It doesn't have to be pictures, it can be discussion, questions, videos, whatever you like! So without further ado, here's my latest batch!

@Cuddlebear I am sending you hugs. It hurts me to hear you and @MissGremlin are still struggling so much. I want to punch the struggle and send it flying.

I am on track with the study. It is geared for 15 year old school leavers I feel so a lot of it is stuff I already know, like this week is "Assist with maintaining workplace safety." I was a health and safety delegate when I worked for Telstra so it's all stuff I know. And irrelevant to the actual course I am doing!

@Sadness2015 @AlwaysMyself I am doing Certificate III in Business (Records and Information Management). It is paid for by my job services provider. Once I have completed this course I will then be doing medical records.

@Sadness2015 it might be worth checking with your service provider to see if they would fund a course for you. It is all online and you can work at your own pace to a degree. For example the module I am doing at the moment I have the entire week to complete which is plenty of time. If I was working full time I'd still be able to do the course.

@MissGremlin thats still pretty bad on their part. Many many years ago there was 1 generic brand of my med that i avoided because when i used it i got symptoms the same as if i had forgotten my meds (withdrawal symptoms i guess), so i wo dered if something was wrong with them or my body not absorbing them. So if the chemist did that brand I'd request the original, but otherwise got generic if not that one.

@ENKELI that is great! I work in health information/data, so we work a lot with medical records. Lots of laws around storage, retention periods, privacy/access...!

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@ENKELI - I am not sure what you are talking about when you say that I should refer to 'service provider'... I have been making calls this week - but because I completed a Certificate iv in 2022 - I don't qualify for any funding - I can only apply for VET if the cost is approximately $15 000 for the course. One of the courses I was looking at, I would be expected to pay $250 per week which is insane - especially since I am not working and on DSP. This particular place would not allow me extra time for 'placement' either. But I spoke to a uni regarding a Diploma today and they would give me additional time for my placement as I am on disability support. But I would need to apply for VET loan. There are places that offer the same course for about 1/4 of the price, but when you read their reviews online - they are extremely bad... I would also prefer doing a more reputable place if I go Diploma now.

Re: ~ Toolshed 2: Power Tools for Recovery ~

@AlwaysMyself thankfully it's all sorted now. Now the only worry i have is having a reaction to it given that I've never taken it before. That's so odd how that medication made you feel, it really makes you wonder if something was up with it.
